Problem getting additional FP

We were in the parks early January and several times I tried to find additional FP selections after my family had used or cancelled all 60 day FP selections. Every time the app gave an error that I could not select any more as I was still holding FP selections for that day. I Have an iPhone XR and the newest version of the app.

Has anyone else experienced this and what was the resolution?

Without more information about exactly when and how this was done, I'd suspect that the "canceling" was the major problem.
 
I had the same issue once on our last trip. It eventually "cleared" itself before I got too frustrated. For some reason, my best hypothesis was that the one person in our party that I narrowed it down to might have missed a two tap fp attraction?
 

FP+ doesn't always "fall off" the account when cancelled like it should. Tapping out almost ALWAYS works - aka, scanning your MB at the touchpoints.
 
Not really enough info but my theory is that either the cancelled (or did you just let them "expire"?) FP+ selections did not fall off the system.
Or you were trying to book a second tier one in the same park prior to using both tier two's.
 
I tried the kiosk and we had the same problem.
When my wife books Fps she Includes me but sometimes I just can't make myself go on the more exciting rides. They go and I just wait and cancel my fastpass in the app. I have also waited until it expired and no luck that way either. I was unsuccessful all week. I guess in June I will tap it out and just leave the line if I chicken out. If it does not work i willmake a few calls.
 
At the times we attempted we had used or cancelled all fastpasses held by the three of us.

Yes if you are not going on then someone should just take your magic band/ticket and just tap in for you.
This works much better than cancelling or letting expire.
 
As someone else mentioned the other factor is the tiered rides; you must use your tier 2's up as well as your only tier one if you are staying in one park, you can't just cancel them (and then try for a tier one).
 
I made the mistake of cancelling one time and it screwed me up. Now I modify for earlier, tap in, and then try for 4th.
 
You can also just walk up to the touch point with your family, tap your band and walk away.
Will the above still work where the ride has 2 places that you have to tap
Your MB? Like if I just tapped my MB at the entrance but then there’s a second place to tap usually closer to actually getting on the ride and I’m not there to tap, would it still work/cancel it out?

This is why - either let someone ride with your band or tap in and "use the FP" without riding so your FP+ goes away.

Yes.

That's because the FIRST tap (usually outside the attraction queue) "deducts" the FP from your MDX account.
The SECOND tap, is just a safeguard for the CM at the check-point to make sure nobody has jumped over from standby into the FP queue at some point during the wait.
 
What I have found is that if you cancel a fp , then that leaves you with only 2 FP. You have to use all 3 fp before you can book your 4th.

If you book a “throw-away” FP as your 3rd FP and let it expire, you can then make your 4th fp.

In AK I book the Safari plus 2 early am FP that I know I will not use. As soon as they expire I can start making my one-at-a-time FP , which I use for more Safari rides!

Had the same problem during last trip. However our problem was getting FP after we used our initial ones. Our time was clearly over, our last FP was around 1 pm & was trying to get evening FP. Went to front desk & no one could get it to work. CM ended up doing something on her computer(bypassing system) & getting FP for me. We’re going next month & im very worried this will happen again.

Exactly what I was seeing. We used, cancelled or waited until experation and still could not book more for the duration of the trip.
 
I also saw some of the same issues. Refreshing the fastpass screen worked most of the time (a circular arrow on the left side of the page.)
