I have reservations for Oct 1-9 at VWL for 2 studios. I guess this is the F&W festival time. How hard would it be to switch resorts at 7 months out? Any success stories would be great.

Thanks, Suzanne :rotfl2:

It depends where you want to switch to. Getting into the Epcot Resorts during F&W might be difficult, but it's worth a shot. Anywhere else is probably pretty doable. You can always keep your VWL reservations and waitlist for another resort. If the waitlist comes through, MS will cancel VWL and book you into the new resort.

Good luck!

Waitlists do come through !! Though not guaranteed we had good success last year. We didn't make our original reservation until sometime in June. For the initial call I think we only got three of the ten days we wanted. Within two weeks we had all the days but two, but not in the BWV as we wanted. By the end of September all waitlists had come through and we had 5 days in BWV and 5 days in BCV.

That said, it does depend on the room type you are requesting. We were reserving studios. As well we did 'day by day' waitlist and didn't have them cancel the original reservation so as the days started to open up we picked the resorts where we could piece together the most days.

It can work but you need to be patient. Most important that you do have accomodations already.

Last year we switched from the VWL to the BWV at the 7 month mark for a 2BR for October 1 through 9. All of the Boadwalk and Standard Views were gone but there was still availability at 7 months.

I got 2 BWV studios for '05's F&W in April, that's when we decided to go. Both were for SV. Then someone changed their mind, and I canceled one of them, and in May plans changed again, and although I was able to get a BWV studio, it was PV. So when we went I had 1 SV and 1 PV.
