... but I'm really not used to doing this ...

we're going to WDW next April (4th) so I'm reckoning I'm approaching the time I can book some meals. You may not believe this but I've only ever booked two things in advance before ... both last trip, Donald's Safari Breakfast and the Wishes Dessert Buffet. you may also gasp but the only TS restaurants I've ever eaten in are Crystal Palace, Hollywood and Vine and Mamma Melrose. We've always been on too tight a budget or not around in the Parks at night)

Sooo ... help me out. I have some ideas of where I'd like to eat but I'm trying to predict what the EMHs are so I can plan accordingly.

We're staying offsite but my friend has really generously booked me a night at the Boardwalk for my birthday. So on Thursday 7th we'll be staying on property and have EMH access.

Ideas for two of us to do something special on my birthday???

Am also presuming as we're not staying on property I'll have to wait till 180 days before each inidividual day to make ADRs for that day?

What I would do is check which parks historically have EMH on the days that you will be at the Boardwalk. I say days because you will be able to use EMH om the night of your check in day, plus as long as you enter the EMH park before midnight the night that you check out you can use that night's EMH as well.

I would NOT book my meal for during the EMH though as that defeats the purpose, so it is simply a case of finding the parks hosting EMH over the time you are there. When does Easter fall next year relative to your onsite stay?

thanks ... I was asking about the EMHs really to plan where we were likely to be each day just to make sure we avoid the crowds were possible!

we're there 4th-11th April, Easter isn't until the 24th - the authority in which I teach has moved to a standard 'spring break' so I'm hoping it'll be a little less busy than when I've visited at Easter previously (Magic Kingdom on Easter Sunday was crazy!). It has helped loads with the cost, I don't think I'd have been able to afford it again having been this year if we'd been trying for peak peak Easter!

Yes, I know about Easter at the MK :scared1::scared1::scared1:

Typically MK has EMH on Thursday mornings and Sunday nights

The others seem to have varied over the years. Remember that although it is not Easter, it is still Spring Break, which does mean busy. The plus is that they will likely add hours to the parks at short notice as they have in the past. The down side is trying to plan around it.

These are last year's April park hours http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/april08.cfm

For some reason the 2010 page is not available. :confused3 Maybe you will have some luck pulling it up.
