Probably a very weird question...can you take your leftovers after meals?

I had the same question as the OP but for a different reason, I'm not a huge fan of breakfast foods and I'm trying to stay away from lots of carbs and fats . I'm a bit worried about the breakfast options. I love a bit of cold steak or chicken in the morning it gives me the protein hit I need and dinner foods are better than breakfast foods imho. I was hoping to take some dinner home for a first breakfast.

This is part of my reason for asking. I concentrate on produce and protein. I don't really eat breads, rice, or pasta. And I don't eat pork products. So grabbing pizza or fries for a snack in between meals isn't an option.

I don't do much sugar, either, so I won't be doing a plate of desserts, either.

If they have turkey bacon or turkey sausage as a breakfast option, I'll be fine for breakfast protein, otherwise leftover cold chicken or steak works for me in the morning.

Last time I cruised, turkey bacon wasn't available. Anyone know if that's changed?

There are a number of protein options. I didn't see turkey bacon, but did see regular bacon, sausage, steak, eggs, ham, and yogurts on the buffet each morning. They also had an international section that had things like noodle soups, though I'm not sure of the entire offerings there since it was always crowded when I ate breakfast.

One of the walk up places on the Dream (I think it was Filmore's) has salads and wraps available most of the day, so that could be a low carb option for those who need something extra between meals when the dining rooms or buffet aren't open.

There is 1 place up on the pool deck on all ships that has fruit, salads, wraps, and other 'healthy' type foods. I think on the Magic/Wonder it's now called Daisy's Delites--not sure what the equivalent is on the Dream/Fantasy.

Also, they did have turkey sausage on the Wonder last August--I didn't like the flavor of it, but it was available in the sit down MDR's at breakfast.

Can anybody report the inside dimensions of the refrigerator in a standard stateroom on the wonder? I want to bring a few good storage containers for items from the MDRs
Thanks!

All the ships have actual refrigerators in the rooms now. Time was the Magic & Wonder had "cooling boxes", but they were switched out during their respective re-imagining dry docks. And the Dream and Fantasy always had refrigerators.

Now, there are times where the fridges don't seem to work as well. Most of the time it's due to the fact that they are contained in a cabinet and ventilation is poor. I find leaving the cabinet door open helps.

Shmoo, glad you clarified this. We have to bring rice milk for 2 of my boys because of diet restrictions. I always thought the milk was cold enough, but I was starting to doubt myself.

I'll be with 3 other adults. 2 are men who can really put it away, so I'll have to fight for any leftovers I want to take.

I'll probably order various things, because I want to taste it all. I'll let the big eaters finish up what I don't want to take with me.

I'm looking forward to some great meals!!

PS My favorite food is leftovers. My 2nd favorite food is Food Orher People Prepare. It's gonna be great!!!
You have so many options for fresh food. I wouldn't bother. Food not properly stored can cause some serious problems.

You could order the steak sandwich from Room Service and keep it in your refrigerator for morning, and eat just the steak. They also have a grilled salmon salad. I personally haven't ordered either but they may be what you are looking for

I ordered them on the Wonder and they were surprisingly good. You can order them the night before as breakfast for the next morning.

They do have smoked salmon, trout and other smoked fishes. And at some breakfast there is a ham carving station.

Another idea that I have not seen yet is getting a kids meal, and snacking throughout the day. DCL does not care how old you are when getting a kids meal.
