Probably a simple ticket question...

First-timers heading to Universal, as my DD8 is Potter-obsessed, and we have booked four nights at RPH in between a few days at WDW and a DCL cruise at the end, thinking we'll relax, swim a lot and hit the parks a few times.

We're not sure that we'll want to go to the parks each day, as we're not huge ride fans, so we're leaning towards buying three day park-to-park tickets. If we decide we love it, however, can we add days to our existing tickets within the initial use period, such as at WDW, or would we need to buy new tickets? Obviously the per-day additional price after three days is minor, but if we're only going to use three days, there's no sense in wasting the additional per person to buy five day passes if we're not going to use them.

Does that make sense? Thank you for your input!

You can definitely add days, just like at WDW. However, on a normal ticket, the maximum number of days is 4. After that, you'd have to purchase an AP which doesn't cost much more.

Fantastic! Thanks for the information, as I didn't realize that, despite having looked at their ticket site probably a dozen times! We're likely to do four days at most, regardless, as we'll leave relatively early on the last morning, but we may start with the three day passes first and see how it goes.

Not to hijack, but I'm confused - I bought 14 day, 2 park tickets. Are these tickets good? Or am I limited in the number of times I can use the tickets?

You I believe have the Orlando flex ticket. That is 14 days of unlimited entry to the parks.

If you want just US and IOA then 4 day is max. After that its cheaper for an annual pass.

We upgraded our 4 day park to park to a power pass (blackout days) for no additional charge. If you are a Florida resident, the cost for a regular ap w/o blackout days is only about $30 if I remember correctly. Wish we did live in Fla....sometimes.

You must be an international visitor? There aren't any 14 day, 2 park tickets available through the North American website.

Not international, but maybe because I bought them 3 years ago (July, 2010)? I checked, and they're just Universal/IoA tickets, not flex tickets. I bought them through Maple Leaf Ticketers.

Now I'm worried! :scared1: I hope they'll still honor them!

I'm sure you won't have a problem with the tickets. If you haven't used the tickets, they will be fine.

Metro is right. They honour all their old tickets as long as they haven't been activated and there wasn't an expiry date on them.

The question of the OP was if they could upgrade to a longer ticket. They couldn't upgrade to your ticket because it no longer exits.

vacation_junkie, that's a 3 park ticket. :) They were specifically saying there's no 14 day, 2 park ticket available for purchase in the States anymore.

Yes but this had a better price than those used too. Best way to go if staying awhile. :)
