We are a family of five. Working on the logistics of going May 2014 for our 20th anniversary. Kids will be 18, 16 and 13. Stayed at POLY in late August 2012 and had no troubles with sleeping arrangements and space.

This time will be a full week instead of just 4 days, so POLY is out financially. Seriously looking at Riverside with the Murphy bd (DS will have no problem with it after seeing pics)

But I find myself wondering about two rooms....and here's my dumb question! When you book two adjoining rooms for the same family travelling with kids....is the second room discounted? Or same rate no matter the situation?

Same rate. And just to clarify, if you are going to book 2 rooms adjoining rooms are next to/close to each other. Connecting rooms are next to each other with an interior door that can be opened to go between the 2 rooms without going outside.

Just so that you're aware: You will pay the extra adult charge for the 18yo if you choose to stay in one room. For POR, it amounts to $15/night. The Murphy Bed measures 35" wide by 65" long, shorter and more narrow than a regular twin bed. It has no posted weight restrictions but is recommended for ages 9 and under. Given the unpredictability of 13yo boys' growth spurts, I'm not sure that you would want to cram your family into a POR room for a full week.

I agree, two rooms for sure with your family size and ages. Two bathrooms would be a blessing and extra space for everyone, especially for a week.

Disney considers every room reservation a separate reservation, so the rate is the same.

However, if you do get a pin code or there is a public discount, you can book up to three rooms on the discount. So essentially, you could have a discount on both rooms if the timing is right.

Also, as the PP stated, all rooms are adjoining; only some are connecting.

Try family suites at All Star Music or Art of Animation. Both have suites that sleep up to 6 family members. Better option than POR. Otherwise 2 rooms is your best choice. Plus 2 rooms or a family suite have more than one bathroom

Thanks for the answers everybody! Wouldn't necessarily have to be connecting, with our kids ages simply side by side would work.

After last years trip, DH and I both think the room will do size wise though. We looked at all the online photos, and for us, the room is just a place to crash. The kids will want to be poolside or park bound, not in the room. We managed one bathroom for our entire two week Florida trip last year (my mom's condo in del ray beach was one bed one bath) so we know we can make it work for 7 days.

We just missed so much last year with only four days and an hour of rain every afternoon and evening....we'll be making up lost park time! Lol
