what excursions have you take-your experiences (good/bad)
what would you reccommend with 2 children under age 10-pre. that includes a beach (with seating and shade)

anyone do any of the private (non disney) excursions-pro/con (cost, if good experience what is company name or email link).

thanks for any help.

Coral World (right across from Coki beach). Do this on your own, not thru DCL. Coral World is an aquarium with an underwater viewing area, hiking trails, hands-on area, gift and snack shop, etc. Immediately adjacent is the beach. If you get off the ship and go to the tourist info booth right at the dock, they will give you a free booklet of coupons and ads that include a discount admission coupon for Coral World. There are lots of taxis right at the port and at CW to take you back...kids enjoy the hands on. THey can touch a baby shark, etc. The nice thing about doing it on your own is that you can stay as short or long a time as you'd like. Depending on the kids' moods....this can be a couple of hours or an all day thing.

Butterfly farm--again, go on your own. You'll miss the crowds and have a cheaper, better time.

Where do you recommend to go for snorkeling and/or swimming with the dolphins? Going to Nassau, St. Thomas and St Maarten

Thanks,

Bev

Snorkeling.... St. John. It is a boat ride away from St. Thomas. It was very clean, nice snorkeling. Perfect for first timers or more experienced.

We LOVED Coral World. We have 2 boys age 6 and 9. It was a great day. I only wish we had allowed time to hit the beach. Coki Beach is right there at Coral World. It looked so inviting!!!! Clear, gentle water.....it was a lagoon type area....just gorgeous!!! We took a van from port and shared it with a few other families going to Coral World. Before we left, I printed out coupons online for Coral World.

In St Thomas Megans Bay is awesome...they have chairs for rent and umbrellas. I love the gentle water there, its great for kids!

I found Discovery Cove in Orlando to be a better "swim with dolphins" experience than anything I've done on any cruise line. I'd save my cruise $ and add this to an Orlando trip sometime.

Megan's bay is the best known beach...there are others just as nice and cheaper.

I sound like a party pooper here...maybe it's too late for me to be on the computer. We LOVE the Eastern cruises. It's our favorite so far. The excursion people on the ship are a big help in telling you how to do stuff on your own. We found St. Thomas/St. Maartin to be safe and easy to get around in ....you'll love it.
