flights booked! Arriving CDs May 7th, leave for Belgium on the Thalys May 10th at 4 pm. Haven't booked hotel yet- would you reccomend a 285 usd splurge from hotel Santa fee to Newport bay club? I'm thinking yes.

Was looking at booking Thalys from cdg to dlp, but the first train is at 10:16 and our plane isn't scheduled to land until 9:40. I'm thinking this is really pushing to too close, even though we will have gone through customs at our layover in Dublin. Next train isn't until 11:58 and is 58e.

Strongly considering a private transfer. Do you think it's worth it? For an extra 2e plus tip for driver I assume, it seems better than hanging around the airport for 2 hours after a long flight from the U.S. And a 2 hour layover in Dublin.

Any companies you would reccomend?

are you on the Aer Lingus flight from Dublin to Charles de Gualle? I was on that flight a few weeks ago. I took the Magic shuttle http://magicalshuttle.co.uk/ ALOT cheaper than private transfer. If you are on the Aer Lingus flight you will land in Terminal 1 and you will need to get to 2E /2F which is easy. You just follow the signs and take the little shuttle train from Terminal 1 to Terminal 2. When you get off the shuttle train, follow the signs for 2E arrivals. Magic shuttle departure point is in a corridor linking 2 E /2 F, at 2Earrivials you will see the sign for Disney bus

I made the 10.30am Magic shuttle, even with a restroom stop :) The next Magic Shuttle is at 11.15am. I was checking in to my hotel at 11.45am

Also the onsite hotel packages include park tickets and breakfast.

I have stayed at Santa Fe, its the furthest distance wise from the park. If you want to upgrade I would pick Sequoia Lodge over Newport Bay. Its a shorter walk to the park

I'd disagree. The shuttle is 20 euros each and a private taxi is 65 euros (both one way). So if there's three or more of you it's no more expensive. And even if there's only two of you I think it's worth it not to have to queue or wait for the next shuttle etc. I've always used RS Transport and the taxi driver is there waiting for you as you arrive and takes you to the door with no hassle at all.

I agree a private shuttle is so much easier as will collect you at your terminal and drop you at your hotel - getting the Magic Shuttle means finding your way from one terminal to another and then having to perhaps go round several hotels before getting dropped at your own it takes so much longer and if you just miss one or its full you may have a while to wait for the next one

Yeah, the magic shortly would cost 56 e for 2 adult, one 3 year old child. I saw 60e for the prestige transfer which wa reccomended on the trip advisor forum.

Would is be expected to tip the driver? I live in the U.S where you are expected to tip everyone. I know you typically don't tip in restaurants more than a euro or so.

You aren't expected to tip but may want to if the driver has been especially helpful even just by rounding up to the nearest amount (e.g. 56 up to 60)

Also price up Eezy Shuttle and RS transports as they are the ones used by most people on here - the details are in the useful sticky at the top of the page

and, for 3 of you you could book the shared shuttle price with rstransports, and more than likely it will be a private shuttle (I always book shared shuttle price, and have only ever shared once using rstransports).

As Elaine says - the shared shuttle is cheaper and rarely do you have to share and if you do, it's really no biggie, at most it will be one other couple/family and as the hotels are so close together, if you were to be dropped off second, it would take max 10-20 minutes extra for dropping the others off first. We used to always book private shuttles, but after our last trip I would always go 'shared' now as the saving is beneficial imo.

Elaine - slightly off topic - when are you heading back to DLRP? After our US/WDW trip last year we are giving Disney a miss this year as we are doing hols in the Med this summer and long haul at Christmas (can't wait for that one!). Are you planning 2017 like the rest of the world lol? We hope to get twice next year - once with my Mum who is desperate to go back as she hasn't been since 2010 I think. I've finally persuaded DH to do a holiday in Paris now that the girls are getting older and can appreciate it/travel about easily, so I'm hoping to tag on DLRP at the end of that, in the summer if I get it all planned. I can't wait to get back to DLRP after WDW - Paris is definitely my 'home'! I'm searching for decent, self catering apart type accom in Paris at the moment to get ideas for next summer but it's a minefield!

DLP is definitely my home too, no plans to go there this year, but definitely 2017, most likely very beginning of July (my DD's GCSE's will be over, and prom, and my littlest niece will have started her school summer holidays). And then probably winter season, as (apart from Frozen Dreams!) I love xmas season at DLP.

Sounds good to me! Christmas is lovely, but I really like Halloween at DLRP. Can't believe your DD is doing her GCSEs! Where does the time go!

oh don't o_O- its crazy, 10 very very short years ago she was starting school, this time next year she'll be nearly finished!

Chipping in to recommend Ezyshuttle - 70E each way, private transfer. Very reliable, always in arrivals hall when we arrive even if our flight has landed early. Always waiting at our hotel for return journey too. Excellent service and they also refuse tips! You can pay using paypal before you go or cash to the driver for each trip.

I just checked out their website. Have you used them for any of their day tours? Do they use English speaking drivers? We will be spending a few days in Paris before heading to DLP, and it would be nice to use the same company for our tours and our transport. :)

I haven't used them for tours. Yes, they are English speaking. John, who owns/runs the business is Irish. Send and email with what you're looking for and he can let you know what they can do.

I'm guessing that it is a fairly small/family-type business? I couldn't find very many reviews online, but I'll definitely consider them. Thank you! :thumbsup2
