Private Table

How hard is it to get a table for 15 people cruising together? I’ve linked our reservations. Is there anything else I need to do?

No, that's all you need to do. I have sailed in a large group many times (we love to sail with family and friends) and they move tables together. One time we had 18 people and we had two tables back to back- I didn't really like that but I understand why sometimes it has to be that way. All the other times we have had more than 12 they have pulled tables together. We like that because all the kids could sit with each other and we could still keep an eye on them. It does seem like every time we have a large group we are last to be served- which I completely understand. Just know if you have a large group it might be that way.

How can you tell if you are with another family by table number?

We’ve been able to tell if we are with another family two different ways:
  1. We go have lunch in the available main dining room rather than in Cabanas on embarkation day. (We usually prefer a more relaxed meal to calm down after the hectic activity of the terminal and embarkation.) The tables usually have the numbers on them, ready for dinner that evening. As we are taken to our table for lunch, we just look around to see if we can find our assigned dinner table and note how many seats it has relative to our party’s size.
  2. When we have had a cabin assigned to Animator’s Palate for muster station, we look around for our dinner table as we are en route to our assigned area for the muster drill.
In our case, the table we found always happened to seat just the number in our party. So we knew we were alone. If the table is larger than your party, I suppose it isn’t a guarantee you’ll have table mates. But it’s at least an indicator to either be prepared to meet new friends or consider visiting the designated location for making requests for dining changes.
