Can anyone who has sailed very recently or is sailing in the next few weeks confirm (or deny!) that private mixology classes (those arranged through your cruise meet group) are now on PORT days? Someone alluded to this on another page and I'm trying to get confirmation. I am in charge of setting up the mixology classes for my cruise group (which is stressing me out to no end, now I'm wishing I hadn't volunteered!) and now it might be on PORT days instead of SEA days?!

i can confirm, i just got an email from the wonderful girl who volunteered to set us up and ours is on our first port day at key west.

Have you already contacted DCL about your mixology? Seems that they should be able to answer that question before anyone here.

But does that mean that ALL private mixology classes are on port days? Or are there just so many that's when yours needs to be?

evidently per the girl who set it up, thats how they are doing it now...she was just checking with us to see if we could still do it on the port day

I have tried contacting DCL - by email as that seems to be the only way to contact them for private mixology classes - but have not heard back. That was FOUR days ago. *sigh* So I was hoping someone here could answer.

Well, in thinking about it, there are probably more bartenders not doing much on port days, than on sea days. More efficient use of personnel.

In September , all mixology seminars (and there were LOTS of them) happened on Sea days. Of course, it was a 7 night EC cruise and we had 3 sea days (okay, 4 if you count the last minute St. Thomas sea day. ) :)

Do you have the correct email address for DCL to get a quick response...usually they are REALLY fast to respond to those kind of questions. What itinerary are you on and how many sea days does it have?

We are also on an Eastern Carib 7 night Fantasy (Star Wars cruise) in January. I have found two email addresses -DCL. Functions.Requests and DCL.Special. Requests - the functions one I sent a few days ago and no response. So I sent one to the special requests one and right away got an automatic response saying they answer between 8:30 and 5:30 est (I sent my email after those times) so maybe that's the right email and I'll get a response tomorrow morning?

I sure hope so. Please let us know when you hear back from them. :)

I heard back from Alma at DCL today; she said it seems December sailings on Disney Magic are on port days, but that for our Disney Fantasy cruise in January it *should* be sea days.

Our upcoming cruise has both sea and port days for the 11,389 private classes our 450+ member group set up.

Did I read that right - your group has set up 11,389 private mixology sessions?

Sure does feel like it. We have over 450 registered people in our group, and when doing a survey of the people (kids, spouses, family members, travel companions, etc.) not listed in the group who are traveling with said people, it comes to almost 800 people last I checked, give or take. We have, if I recall correctly, 5 or 6 private mixology classes and at least one of everything else available. We also are doing an open bar thing for meetup last I heard, as well as bracelets, etc. We have something like 10 FE groups plus a Pixie Dust group, an adult group and a bunch of other stuff.

@phinz wowza, that's a lot of organizing going on! This is my first time organizing a mixology (not my first time participating) and I thought having to juggle the requests of 90 people was enough :rotfl:some people don't want it too early, some people don't want it to be on Star Wars day....some people are like 'if my group can't be together we won't do it at all'. And I'm over here thinking 'dude I'm just ONE person, how much control do you think I have over all this?'
