Hi! We just finished our first Disney cruise and had the best vacation we've ever had!!! My daughter received an invitation to privately meet with the Disney characters before their final farewell in the atrium. It lasted about 20 minutes and was very magical, corny but true. We were so amazed she was invited as only a couple of other families were there and are curious as to why they picked us!?! Anyone know the scoop???

Just a magical moment. Usually people selected by randomly selected CMs. Could have been someone in the kid's club, or your room host, or your server - no way of knowing.

It is random and as mentioned a Magical Moment. We got to experience it on the Panama Canal cruise and it was awesome!!

It was great, my daughter talked to every cast member too and I noticed stitch and tinkerbells help ran up to us after we left from meeting them and asked me for our room number and name and had a secretive smirk, then the next night we received an invitation staying to not miss and to bring our camera. Super cool, I'm scared to go on another cruise bc that was so awesome, if we weren't invited again we'd be disappointed (but we'd understand.) I'm surprised I've not heard more about this private meet and greet before though!

Yes, she was 4.5 and I hope that'll be one of her early memories, lucky for her! :) she talks about the cruise a lot! That's neat you were pixie dusted while going through something, my father tragically (literally) passed away 2 weeks before our cruise and I felt very guilty going but to cancel would have been a big mess so it was bittersweet on the cruise, so that was extra special for us and after hearing you had been going through something it makes me think Disney must have ESP :).

I can tell you as a former CM, the easiest way to get cool magical moments like this is to be friendly and nice to the CM's. You'd be surprised how many guests just ignore the CM's completely. They're not rude or anything, they just act like the CM's are animatronics. I guarantee your kids being friendly and chatty is what got you this cool experience! :thumbsup2

My daughter is, we even bring with us snacks and thank you notes to cast members. She is Facebook friends with some.

This happened to my Husband and I as well. We are both adults no children but we went to almost all the character meet and greets and chatted with the cast members working the lines. And we had a good time. And then one of the character handlers asked for our room number and the next day we got the invitation. It was really cool.

This is one of the things that I love about sailing with Disney, and Disney in general. Adults can have just as good a time, and enjoy the characters, as the kids!
