private homes

I don't think you're going to find a rental home in Lake Buena Vista. The closest would probably be in Indian Wells and then I don't think there's 6 bedroom homes. This one on vrbo.com is 5 bedrooms. http://www.vrbo.com/83634
Lake Buena Vista is in Orange County and Orange County doesn't have rental homes. Kissimmee is in Osceola County and that's why there's so many subdivisions there. The next closest to LBV would perhaps be on Poincianna.
Here's a link to a couple of subdivision maps.

Go to the bottom of the page and there's a list of the subdivisions by location.
You could then go to vrbo.com or homeaway.com and see what's available in those areas.
This will take you to the listings page for Kissimmee on vrbo.com

I have rented houses outside Disney World gates many, many times. It is a wonderful experience. You can go to any search engine and type in Disney Holiday rental house & lots & lots will come up. Many are owned by Britains & we've only had wonderful experiences.

We rented from Loyaltyusa (www.loyaltyusa.com) on our first trip and their homes are great. They have homes from 3-6 bedrooms. We stayed in the four bedroom Cinderella's Castle. Ever since we have stayed onsite, though. Gotta love sleepin in the World!

We've rented through Orlandovillas.com and vrbo.com neither in Lake Buena Vista but in the other area's surrounding WDW. Both times it was from a private owner. Both went really well and I wouldn't hesitate to do it again.

a friend of mine rents homes for his disney trips almost exclusively and just loves the experience. says he really enjoys having a pool all to themselves and the freedom to just hang out without a crowd. They do enjoy the occasional on-site trip, but when the family and grandkids vacation with him this is always the way they go.

Hi and welcome to the boards.

As mentioned vrbo is a great site but sometimes not that easy to navigate through. You could also try www.homeaway.com where you can reduce the number of homes by your own requirements.

Not sure if you are going to find anything in Lake Buena Vista - most of the homes are off the 192 or 27 roads.

You will certainly be able to find a property to suit you - a lot of them are within 10 mins of Disney too.
