Does anyone know how many people you need to do a private tasting? Also, do you have to pay anything extra for the tasting other than the normal $10-30 per person? Everything I seem to find during a search is about 20-25.

We are in the early stages of planning a large extended family trip with more adults than kids so I thought we might be able to pull one off. I figure we would have about 10-15 adults and the few non-drinkers would enjoy going and making the drinks and letting others drink them.

I know that we will not be staying together for everything, but will link dining so hope to be able to get 1-2 tables for our group of 12-19 total. Other than that, we would only plan a few things for everyone to do together. For the adults, I figure a Palo brunch would be okay as well.

The minimum number varies by ship and possibly by type of class. Since you mention making the.drinks, you must be thinking specifically of the Mixology class. On our Fantasy cruise, the minimum for our private Mixology was 25 and a maximum of 30. On the Magic, we were told the minimum was 20 and the max was 40.

There are different types of alcohol tastings now being offered on board.
There are two ways to book these classes;
1. If you are in a group (Group Cruise meet) you can email DCL 30 days prior to sailing and reserve for your group.
A minimum of 25 guests to a maximum of 35 guests/adults per class/session (Depending on which class/tasting), and the appropriate fee per person and each participant will be charged automatically to their onboard account whether they show-up or not.
You will need to provide each guests full name and stateroom number or reservation number at least 2 weeks prior to sail date. You can also request for the time and dates you prefer.

2. On embarkation day head to the Guest Services and ask them what alcohol tasting they offer on board and they will give you a ticket. It is also indicated in the navigator.

I have been the organizer for two private mixology classes . In both cases we had a required minimum of 20 people. As your family probably would not amount to that many, you might check on the cruise meet thread for your particular sailing to see if there's other people who might like to participate.

Thank you all for the information. I had breakfast with the person that I will be co-planning with and she mentioned some friends that might be coming as well. Since it is a celebration of 2 different person's 40th birthday, it is possible more people might be invited outside of just family. As it is, I was thinking of inviting some of our extended family so that would work well.

We have already decided that we would basically just link dinner so our tables are near. Then, other than one or two gatherings just to celebrate the birthday's everyone would do their own things.
