Hello all, My husband and I are planning a vow renewal in 2010.
We would like to have a welcome party at the polynesian on the beach close to sunset pointe. We just returned from a week at WDW and really love the idea having a party right there. We seen the volley ball net and thought it would be great fun. We are wanting to have dinner at O'hanas and then down to the beach for desserts, cordials, games, characters and fun. Ending with Wishes or whatever fireworks display from the MK.

Does anyone know if this is possible?

Thanks

that sounds beautiful. i am having one at the shipwreck beach but yours sounds great

Disneybride2010, congrats on your upcoming vow renewal!

A few years ago I looked into hosting a private event on the beach of the Polynesian. I had seen photos of such a party held there in the past so I knew it could be done. However, when I looked into it, I was told that Disney no longer offered that venue for an event. I wound up hosting my party at the Grand Floridian's Summerhouse instead. I wrote about my event in an old trip report: click here. I also shared some photos of it: click here. (Please note that most of the links in my trip report are probably broken by now -- I'm sorry about that and hope to fix it one day.)

Now, that was then and this is now. Please ask the FTW folks if the rules have changed. Sometimes Disney does change the rules but you will never know unless you ask, so please ask.

I have also attended a wonderful private event on the beach of the Yacht/Beach Club. There was a steel drum band, a DJ, a balloon artist, incredible food (roast beef, shrimp, steak, etc.), ice cold drinks (a full bar), as well as all sorts of beach games and arts & crafts set up for the guests to enjoy (especially the children). The event was held in the evening and Disney illuminated the beach with these balloon lights that floated in the air (I forget what they're called). It was a wonderful party and my first taste of a private event in WDW.

Again, congratulations on your upcoming VR, and have fun planning it!
