How far in advance should I make priority seating arrangements? We're going in July and the booklet that our travel agent gave us said four months in advance, but is that really necessary or can I wait until June to make my priority seating arrangements? By the way, just for regular lunches and dinners. I know to call way in advance for our character breakfast and dinner show!!
Thanks,
Kathy

Although I enjoy making ours 120 day out, I think you'll probably have good luck in June for most spots unless you're talking about July 4. From time to time I change a PS and usually have little trouble that far out. You may have to be somewhat flexible with times.

Besides character meals, restaurants at the monorail resorts and at MK may be harder to get on Saturday night if they're only offering fireworks then.

You can always wait BUT if you want to get specific times for lunch and dinner at typically popular restaurants (which is most of them!) then I suggest making them as early as you can. You can always change them if you change your plans or minds. But if you want to see certain parades, fireworks, or you are used to eating at a particular time you are better off calling sooner rather than later. What tends to happen is the more popular times book up. You could wait and hope for other people's cancellations if you are feeling lucky. That's my suggestion.

I called last week for ps at the 50's PTC for May and all the times I wanted were full. I had to settle for a much less desirable time that coincides with my DD's nap time. If you are flexible you may be fine, but I would call as soon as you have an idea of your schedule.

Thank you very much for your help. I have been very stressed out with wedding planning and had been hoping to put this off for a while! But I guess this will be fun to plan! I better get to work!!
Thanks again,
Kathy

I'm pretty much in agreement with the previous posts. I also do the 120 day thing--but that's because my WDW trips these days(after 25 visits to WDW) generally revolve around the places where we're going to eat.
No need for everyone to be THAT compulsive, but once you decide on a time and place, best to make the PS. If things change, they can easily be cancelled.
Just curious--have you decided on any places yet???

We just returned on the 9th from our vacation.....I made 1 priority seating for every day and the places and times I wanted were not always available so I took less desirable times...like 2:40 at Crystal Palace for 10 people I thought the time was ok until I realized my MIL wanted to see the 3pm parade. So we arrived at the CP at 11:55 and told them we had ps at 2:40---that everyone was here and were starved and we got right in (10 people) I couldn't believe my luck....It happened again at H&V but this time when I called to change my ps I was told there were no ps available and when I got to the park at 1, I stopped a h&v and they told me have everyone there at 2 (which was the plan) and we were In. I know this wouldn't happen during super busy times but it is worth a try.
