We are going to be in Orlando in March and plan to make a one-day visit to Epcot. In our Disney account we have both a one-day ticket and an 8 day ticket. I want to make sure that when we go to the park the one-day ticket will be used.

Let me say that these are complimentary tickets that we very kindly got from Disney when a past trip was cut very short due to a dire family emergency. So, I am hesitant to try reassigning them to a "fake" guest account as is recommended in the ticket sticky.

Does anyone have an idea about how I can be sure of this? Thanks so much!

Absolutely stop by Guest Services (outside any of the 4 parks, or Disney Springs) and make sure they verify it's prioritized. We've gotten burned on that once in the past. For an extra 5 minutes having it verified, you'll avoid any potential future problems. In theory, it should automatically work like you want, but plan to have it verified.

Thanks so much. I finally got in touch with someone on the phone who prioritized the tickets for me. I had been under the impression that this couldn't be done over the phone, but I was happy they did it. However, I will definitely stop by Guest Services to verify. I would be really upset if we burned our 8 day tickets on a 1 day visit!

This is a year later, but my DIL stopped by GS just for that and few days later, noted it did not work. So check your tickets after you go through the gate.

We got burned by this!

On a recent visit, one small clarification to know for anyone holding both a regular ticket and an AP- the ticket used to make the reservation will be the one that now gets charged.

So if you have an AP, you MUST make the park reservation with the AP. (if you do not want the regular ticket to be used.) SUPPOSEDLY, if you make the park reservation using the AP, then it will automatically be prioritized.

Supposedly, WDW is making another change soon where AP holders will not need a park reservation at all to enter after 2pm.
