What are my options for printing up my boarding pass at the resort. Staying at BWV. We have a 6pm flight, so our plan for departure day is to leave our bags with bell services, get on the AK bus around 7am for the 8am EMH, back to the resort between 2-3pm to catch the ME bus.

We are flying southwest. I believe the resorts can do the check in for southwest - correct?

and if so -- will they print up our boarding passes?

Can this be done the evening before? or can/should be done the day of our flight?

It has been a few years but i think we took care of everything at the resort.

You are correct. You will check your bags at the resort airline checkin and they'll print and give you your boarding passes.

Quick and easy!

Check the times for the RAC/BAGS operation at the BWV. IIRC, they close at Noon. If you leave your luggage is at Bell Services, that means you take it on the ME bus and check it at the airport. You' could print your boarding pass at the airport, but since you're flying SWA, better to ask the BWV lobby concierge to do it for you at the 24 hour mark.

My advice is to give your luggage to the RAC before you leave BWV for the day. If you don't mind getting a high B or C boarding pass, the RAC can also print your boarding pass for you at that time. The RAC will transport your luggage to the airport and you will next see it at your home airport baggage claim.

If you care what zone you get for seating, either purchase EBCI for the trip home (so it doesn't matter when you print your boarding pass) or check in via your phone (or at the lobby concierge desk) at the 24 hour mark (and it won't matter when or where you actually print your boarding pass).

You can check in using your phone at the 24 hour mark and print your boarding passes later. I usually get boarding passes the morning I check out left on the door. Sometimes they print another set when I bring my luggage to RAC.

Apparently, you cannot count on that, though.

We stay at the BWV almost every trip and we have NEVER received a boarding pass under the door. We also use ME (round-trip) for almost every trip.

I would just pay SWA for early check in, take your luggage to RAC at 6:30, get your boarding pass and off to AK.

give your luggage to the RAC
Not sure what this is an acronym for. It is probably something simple, but just not coming to me right now. I'm guessing Resort Airport Check-in. I think my brain is already getting into vacation mode.

I did end up getting the early bird check in so that i wouldn't have to worry about this, so this sounds exactly what will plan on doing.

RAC is Resort Airline Check-in

IIRC is If I Recall Correctly.

Good that you got EBCI. Doesn't really matter when or where you end up printing your BP if you have that. You'll automatically get your boarding position assigned 36 hours ahead of departure and ahead of those who check in at the 24 hour mark. Agree that you should get rid of your luggage before you go off for the day's activities. Then you only have to worry about getting back to the resort 15 minutes ahead of the scheduled departure of your ME bus.

I used a different airline, but I had the front desk at BoardWalk check me in for my flight and print my boarding pass at about 11:30 am last month. I was not using Magical Express; I used Uber to get to the airport.

As Best Aunt says, you can get boarding passes printed by the concierge at the resort front desk if the resort airport check-in desk is closed.

The boarding passes showed up the evening before we left. So super easy and convenient. My traveling partner, who has never really experienced a disney/DVC resort was impressed with all the magical things that happen - the luggage appearing in the room, the magical express, the boarding passes just showing up, the buses to and from the parks, the magic bands. Compared to other travels she has had (all over the world) she was very impressed with how efficient things operate and how many people are everywhere making sure thing run smoothly. She felt it was overkill all the people we saw walking around, but that is how they create the "magic". by the end of the trip she definitely felt that it was a magical trip.

Good luck! We had issues with this last February at VWL. We had an evening flight on Southwest. We planned on going to Chef Mickey's for a late breakfast. After waiting in a very long line at RAC they told us they could not print out our boarding passes. When asking why not they told us they couldn't and step aside. Ok is our flight cancelled what's up? This time my wife was answered very rudely by the person behind the counter that he didn't know and it's not going to change. Step aside. I stepped in and was told "it's up to you to figure out" we gather our bags and went inside to concierge desk. My wife was understandably upset. Three (3)Pretty rude people at the RAC. We explained what happened and the folks behind the counter were fantastic. Took care of everything that couldn't be done outside the doors. I was then given bad information though by the CM who greets visitors in VWL lobby that the RAC staff are TSA people. Wrong. They are not TSA. Why or how TSA got dragged into this mess is still puzzling. They're airline staffers. They are not CM's I did find out afterwards. My biggest problem was the fact that to address the rude staff at RAC wasn't something Disney could deal with since they're not CM's. They sure look like CM. If they are going to represent you, they need to abide by your customer service policies. Being rude and obnoxious is hopefully not a emerging trend by representatives of WDW.

BLUF= Have concierge print out your boarding passes as soon as possible.

RAC employees are a private service, private company, not Disney or TSA or airline employees. Sometimes for reasons unknown they do not get the data info required to process RAC. Just report it to the resort management and move on, don't let it ruin your day.

I have gone to the front desk and had boarding passes printed out the night before on some trips. Otherwise, you can ge the boarding passes printed out when you resort check your bags the morning you check out. This has worked very well and one less thing to do at the airport. A really nice service. So far, our bags have always made it to our destination the same time we did.

We often have Guest Services at the parks print out our BPs (if we're not at the resort when check-in opens).

The RAC employees are staffed by BAGS - a private company. They are not Disney, TSA, Airline or Airport employees. The system isn't perfect. I know this for sure - I know the developers who made it. :rotfl2:

I fly Southwest all the time. I just add the boarding pass to my mobile wallet and use my phone. It saves paper and is much easier and there is nothing to print out that way!

If I had a nickle for everyone who thinks an employee is rude because they don't the answer they want I could own 1000 more vacation club points.

There are times that RAC can't check you in, it isn't their fault and they are not told why they are just not able to do it. It has happened to me twice and my sister once. Instead of arguing with them accept it and move on. Just because the Concierge could print your boarding passes doesn't mean anything because you weren't checking your bags with concierge and that is the issue.

I tried to do this at Disneyland in California and was shocked when they refused. I went back to my Disney hotel there and the front desk refused, also. Oops, sorry, I'm going off-topic with a vent.
