Printing to canvas?

Has anyone had one of their photos printed to canvas?

Any recommendations on which printing company/service to use? I know Shutterfly does this... does anyone else?

I have had www.mpix.com print several things on canvas. They do an excellent job.

I had THIS picture printed on a 24" square mounted canvas a month or so ago. I purchased from Smugmug- it came much darker looking than I expected and with a purple color cast- so I sent them an email. They explained that printed the pictures will look 1-1.5 stops darker than on a computer screen. They also said if ordering B&W you have to unselect the Auto-Color option. But they corrected it all and sent me a new one the next day for free- not even asking for the first one back. So I was very happy.

One other thing to remember- when ordering mounted canvas you need a picture with some real estate on the edges because the picture folds over the frame. If your subject fills the entire image you may loose something to the sides. On Smugmug's ordering page you can see guidelines as to about where the sides will crease over.

I just ordered a canvas last night from www.canvasondemand.com. They called me this afternoon to tell me the picture would be a little bit soft at the size I wanted, so I've just uploaded a couple more pictures to them and they'll let me know if either one would work.

This is my first canvas I've ordered and I've heard good things about this company. I should have it next week!

We did our own with some canvas she found at a craft store. They came out real nice but the paper is only 8x11. It took us a few tries to get a good result. You have to adjust color, contrast and brightness. We have a couple of shot we wanted done professionally so thank for the links.
