I am hoping that you all can help me. I have been using Mpix for my printing and have been very impressed with their quality and turn around time. Their uploading time is horrible but I was just going to deal with it because their prints were worth the extra time. Now the turn around time has doubled for them and the email I received from customer service only states it is going to get worse the closer the holidays get. I have lots of client orders and there is no way they will be o.k. with double the wait, or even worse as it gets further into the month.

If anyone has a recommendation for a good quality, reasonably priced print shop, I would really appreciate any information. I have used Shutterfly and will again if need be but I was so impressed with Mpix quality vs Shutterfly I hate to go back.

Thank you!

Do you have a Costco membership?

I would not buy a membership just for the Photo Center, but I am very impressed with their quaility. I upload in the morning and pick up afterschool, local Costco a couple blocks away from kids school(you can select any costco for pickup).

What I like about Costco.
1. "NO AUTO ADJUSTMENTS", when placing an order you can disable auto adjustments. For me this is a must, it pretty much gives me photos EXACTLY as I uploaded them. I understand that for some adjusting contrast or color is a good thing, but in my case I have already done all adjustments I feel were needed. The thing about AUTO CORRECTIONS is that you NEVER know when it will yeild good results and when it will be overkill, just think of AUTO COLOR in photoshop, sometimes it can be perfect and sometimes it will be way off.

2. Prices, did I mention 12x18 inch print @ $2.99?

3. Glossy or Satin, just check what you want.

4. Custom Backprint, Instead of it saying "Costco store #xxxx", it can read "Mariner Baby photography, image # xxxx". Or ANYTHING ELSE(within limits).

5. Moneyback if not satisfied, they also offer to reprint. One time I selected satin finish when I wanted glossy, they still offered to reprint for free.

3.

Thank you both. :)

I have used Costco and although they are very convenient (their home office is about 10 minutes away) it just depends when their machines have been cleaned as to the quality you receive. I found their business print centers to be better but I had the same print done by Mpix and Costco and sitting side by side the one from Costco looks like it was done on my home printer. I LOVE the price but my customers would notice the quality difference. I do use them for my own prints when I am printing a ton of 4x6's for scrapbooking because you just can't beat the price and the people are great (a lot are actually my clients :) ).

I will give Pro pics a try, I have not heard of them before. Turn around time is so important around the holidays.

any lab will experience increased business this time of year Mpix turnaround time is still way shorter than that of a traditional film lab, what time promise are you making your clients...
