My dd (age 12) wants to do an 8x8 scrapbook of our upcoming disney trip. I don't want to just go print my digital pics in 4x6 format because even if she crops, they will still be large for her pages. Any suggestions on how to print (other than a printer at home) smaller sizes of pictures. In other words, if I used publisher and put lots of smaller pics on an 8.5x11, where could I have it printed on photo paper at?...or is there a better way to do it?
Thanks!

One thing you could do is resize the pictures to 2 by 3s and then using a photoshop prgram put 4 of them into a 4 by 6 and then have that printed- it would take time but be cheaper- 4 picctures for the price of one.

If you resize them to whatever size and then put them into a 4 by6 in photoshop you can have them printed wherever you normally would.

if you have a cvs or walgreens or someplace that has the printing machines that you can plug your memory card or cd into, most of them now let you print 2 pics on a 4x6 sheet (or you can print 3 or 4 on the 4x6 card). I have done this many times when making 6x6 or 8x8 pics. maggie

Wow!!! I had no idea cause I usually order mine online... it is worth the higher 4 x 6 price if I could not different suze photos.

I don't think the price is much different if you get them in an hour. I get mine at my cvs and wait the hour and it's 19cents for each 4x6 size no matter how many pics are actually on the 4x6 size. I have used the "I want them right now" machine and it's only like 29cents or something I think. I want to say that the option is called something like "other sizes" or maybe "wallet size"? it's a very handy option. :) maggie

I do this all the time and it doesn't take that long and works great. I resize all my pics in Photoshop before developing because even the 4x6 prints usually cut off the top or the bottom when developing because the size on the memory card is not "true" 4x6. It only takes a few minutes and it's also nice to be in Photoshop and fix any little blemishes that may have ended up on film ;)

Edited to add: I develop at Costco and it's 13 cents a print for 4x6, no matter how many you print, and it takes 1 hour. The print quality is perfect too!

thanks so much for the ideas. Do you know if Costco or cvs has an online program that allows you to do this at home and send it to them via email?

I think you either have to have a program yourself (photoshop etc) or you have to go into the store and use the machine. You can upload to cvs and walgreens but it won't let you put more than one picture on a 4x6 sheet from home. maggie
