Help! I purchased my DD an air ticket from Delta. They sent me an e-mail with my receipt, her ticket, and their 'legal stuff' as three attachments. For some reason, when I click on the paperclip the list of attachments comes down but they can't be opened. Help! How do I fix this? I really would like to print these important items.

Also, if I right click on the letter and click OPEN, the letter opens with the following message near the top: OUTLOOK EXPRESS REMOVED ACCESS TO THE FOLLOWING UNSAFE ATTACHMENTS IN YOUR MAIL, then it lists the attachments.

DH had this problem on his computer at work and somehow, through trial and error, he got the problem fixed but he can't remember how.

 :badpc:  :badpc: ...I have a LOVE/HATE relationship with my computer!

Can you forward the email to your hubbies computer and see if he can bring it up?

options--security--allow attachments (I may not have the wordng exactly right)

I have this same problem. Can anyone give advise on how to fix this?

I did try forwarding it to my yahoo mailbox...and it did come through. Only it's not three seperate things, it's 5 pages of stuff. At least I have it!

I don't know where my mind is, I never thought about sending it to DH at work.

I hope I can get the problem fixed as Delta just sent me another e-mail with an attachment. No idea what it is.

When I access my hotmail account at work through Outlook Express, I have the same problems with attachments & forwards. No problems if I go directly to www.hotmail.com. Can you access your email via a webpage instead?

Just a thought!

It just makes me so mad! It just started doing this. Why?

I was able to get it through my yahoo account but instead of being able to just print the 'ticket' part, I had to pring everything.

I went to internet options and clicked on security (like Lewisc said). I did not see anything about attachments and everything is set for allow or prompt. Medium security. I 'played' around there for a little bit but nothing helped.

I'm glad (sorry guys) to know it's not only my computer which does this. Guess I like to be part of a group :thewave: .

Any other ideas?

ok. i usually always have "weird" problems like this, but this time. i don't. i have email tickets from delta and i can access my stuff. would you like me to send you my email to see if you can open this? or would you want to send me your email from delta to see if i can do it on my computer?

I may be using a different version of outlook express.

From OUTLOOK EXPRESS
--tools
--options
--security
--virus protection
--there is a box to un check about do not allow attachments to be open or saved

Either your anti-virus program, firewall or E-mail program is blocking attachments. You may have to check all 3.

WOOHOO!! I finally figured out what Lewisc was talking about...and FIXED the problem!!

THANK YOU LEWISC!!

Start out on your OUTLOOK EXPRESS page...where you read your mail.

Click TOOLS at the top.

Go to the bottom and click OPTIONS.

Click the SECURITY tab.

UNCHECK: Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus.

Click APPLY.

Click OK.

Oops...looks like we posted at the same time Lewisc. Thanks for the help!

It worked and I can now open my attachments. Hope it works for you too!

:hyper: :teeth:

I can get attachments to open in Outlook Express at work now too! :D

All this time, I thought our network security was blocking the attachments - I never thought to check the setup in Outlook Express.

Thanks again!

Sharon

Now that you have attachment enabled MAKE SURE YOUR AV program is updated and is configured to check your E-Mail (attachments).

Don't rely on your ISP AV checking. Norton spotted an E-mail virus that got through hotmail.
