Princeton Review for SAT

My son just asked about signing up. Anyone with any good or bad reviews?

I can not recommend the SAT reddit board enough for AMAZING info on the best ways to study for the SAT. My son and I have been going through the College Panda Books they suggest and we are both learning so much!

Both of my boys did the Princeton review program thru their high schools. They did the same program 4 years apart.

It was after school at least one day a week and every Saturday for several months. Plus homework. Both boys were A students, attended every session and did all required work.

Older son’s SAT score went up 30 points after the program. Younger son’s SAT score went up 20 points after the program. Neither of my boys thought it was a useful program or recommended it to others.

after the princeton program, I purchased older son a $20 SAT study guide from Barnes and nobles and his next SAT score was over 100 points higher.

DD did both the SAT (qualified for National Merit) and MCAT (99 percentile) courses with success. We were very happy with the program.

I’ve found that private tutors worked the best with my kids, SAT went up 200+ points with all 3.

Only invest the money if your kid will realistically invest the time. We didn't have the time - which can be hard to come by in a Junior year with AP coursework, activities and a job, so the money would have been wasted. (But she got into her first choice school and all the rest of the schools she applied for, so not really a big deal).

(Khan Academy has free SAT prep online if your kid is self motivated enough or can't do the SAT class schedule).

Check your school district as well.. Ours not only offer free classes they will analyze your score and custom make a program to help with your weak areas.

It was well worth it for my son. He raised his score several points after he took the course.

Ours offers test prep classes for about $400 each (and they’re not very good).
