*~PrincessBelle's~* Photo Trip Report

Great crisp colors. I thought you did a fantastic job.
I like the Animal Kingdom shots the best even though its not my favorite park.
Do you have any other lenses other than the kit? I am a Canon newbie as well. I hope to get back out to California this year to shoot more at Disneyland.

Nope I just had the kit lens..I was hoping for a new one as a bd present from my DFi before I left but I ended up getting one when I got back

Very nice collection. The next time you are at WL. Try shoot some lobby pictures with or without using the flash. It's very challenging.

I find that the shots end up looking much more bland than I remembered them. I think it is all the dark wood. I do not have a really wide angle lens, but I believe that would work well.

The first time I shot at the WL lobby, I used a Nikon D100. It was a flop. Every shot looks noisy, dark and a bit yellow.

This time, I used a D200. It's a lot better but it still a lot of trial and error. Because the WL lobby has so much space and the dark wood color, light do not reflect well. Therefore, there is never enough light for good shoot.

Here are a few tips you can try. Higher ISO like 800 or above. I know...noise. Tripod so you can open that shutter a little longer. Faster glass if you can afford to. One other observation I found is shoot it around 3 to 5 pm. WL lobby doesn't have a lot of windows for day light. 3 to 5pm is the strongest day light you can have inside the lobby.

Here is a shot I took some where around 4pm, I think.

Here is another shot I took early in the morning with very little daylight. I set the camera on a tripod and open the shutter for a few seconds.

It might be that the best way to deal with the wide range of light in the WL lobby is HDR.

Looking at your Mission Space shot......I wonder what that would look like if it was taken at night. Will have to give that a shot next time I'm in the park.
