I don't know about greets

It’s easier now, when you get to that point you no longer have to choose a range of time. The prompt will say if you plan on finishing the half in less than 2:45 you are required to submit a proof of time. Then there will be a question “are you planning on submitting POT now?” Or something to that effect at which time you can put in your current time so you have something in. Then you can update that POT anytime before the cutoff and they will corral you based on that. If you haven’t registered for a race on the new system just remember that you need to be signed into your rundisney account, not your active account.
Good luck to all tomorrow, I know I’ll get that 10:00 rush of adrenaline while the little circle spins on my screen

I've never run Princess, but I can report what I've seen as far as race themes with rare characters and what I've seen on race weekends. The themes are mainly shirt, medal and merchandise. The pre- and post-race characters are related to the race, but the on-course characters really have no relation to the themes. During Princess this year, the on-course characters were very generic. The only Princess related meet I remember is the Princes, which had a neverending line.
As others said, the theme dictates the medal and the merchandise. If you're paying attention to the stage before the race starts they usually invite the character of the race to the stage to greet everyone. The meet and greets are usually random. There are characters you can meet with before and after the race, and then characters during the race. A lot of people tend to wear costumes that match the theme, which means those photo lines tend to be longer than others. I try to get any photos I want in the before/after spots before the race begins because after the race there's no guarantee they'll still be meeting when you get back. The tricky part is most lines switch out between two characters, so it's a 50/50 chance you'll get the character you're looking for after waiting in the very long line! My first runDisney race I was standing behind someone who was visibly upset when the character she was waiting to meet left for her break right when she was the next to go. She ended up walking off the line after waiting all that time! I hope she was able to get her photo after the run! What does the theme really dictate? Is it bad that I’m considering the logistics and physical and financial strain of heading to the Expo Thursday, Friday running the 5K checking out hopping to Magic Kingdom for a few character photos driving to Tampa to make it to the Gasparilla expo before that closes checking into hotel # 2 then doing the 15k/8k Challenge I was signed up for Saturday/Sunday
I've convinced my mom to try a 5k with me!
Potentially dumb question: will I be able to register both of us at the same time, or will I have to do one at a time? She has a profile in my Disney account from a previous trip. I'm afraid it'll sell out before I get both of us in! I'll be doing regular registration next week.
My 7 year old is obsessed with Moana. I really need this race to sell out so I can stop trying to justify another trip just so he can run this race.I'm really surprised that the 5km hasn't sold out yet... especially with a Moana theme?!
You're in the wrong place if you're looking for people to convince you that you don't "need" another trip!My 7 year old is obsessed with Moana. I really need this race to sell out so I can stop trying to justify another trip just so he can run this race.
In the past the 5K is the last to sell out. The 10K always sells out first before any of the others.I'm really surprised that the 5km hasn't sold out yet... especially with a Moana theme?!
I am new to all of the marathons. That being said, I am going with my daughter and a group that are running in the events, first time (disney marathons) for all of them. I am going as a spectator and head cheerleader. So my question is, do I need any sort of ticket to be a spectator? Are spectators even allowed? My daughter and 2 of her friends are running all 3, while the other 2 are just doing the 5k. Or do I just stay in the hotel and wait?
Thank you so much for the info!! I did see the Cheer spectator package, and signed up to get more information on it!!I'm sure someone with a lot more knowledge will chime in, but you can purchase the cheer spectator package, but I think it would be per race. I'm not sure if what comes with it would be worth it to you. If you did purchase, I probably wouldn't bother for the 5K, because that would be super early in the morning, and it will be over pretty quickly. You'll be able to follow all of them via text messages with their bib numbers for the 10K, 1/2, and full. It will text you when they start, and then when they cross certain mile markers along the way. There would be several places along the way that I remember seeing spectators cheering us on. I remember there were several people outside the GF, and several at the Ticket and transportation center. I don't think you would need any kind of pass to be in those places(those were along the 1/2 marathon route). Hopefully someone else will chime in with what you would actually get with the spectator package and whether or not they think it would be worth it.
