Hi there,

I'm so excited we're going to Disney on Jan. 5 and 6.

First off what will the crowds be like then? Second, should I spend the extra money to go to Storybook dinner in MK or is the Norwegian dinner in Epcot just as good. I want my kids to have a very memorable experience.
thanks!!!!

We saw more characters at the one at Epcot. We did the lunch and got lots of photo ops and plenty of autographs. The food was just average. We did CRT before the new format so I am not sure how many characters you see now. I have to say that the food was better here but it is definitely more expensive. We like it because it is in the castle. We are doing both this year so I will post about it when we get back.

thanks and have a super trip. What do you expect the crowds to be like then?
thanks,
Lara

Lara, do you already have ADR's for either CRT or Akershus? If not, chances are you won't get in either one, especially CRT. If you do have your ADR's, I haven't been to the Norway character meal, but I did go to CRT back in June. We also went there 5 years ago. The food was much better then. The picture you get with Cinderella is pretty cool and it's definitely cool to get to eat in the castle. With that said, though, the castle is really expensive (uses 2 TS credits, if you're on dining plan). I felt like it's a great place to try, just for the experience, but I think we may try Norway next time. Good luck! Have a great vacation! princess:

We did the Storybook dinner at Norway on 12/3 and we loved it. We saw five princesses - Ariel, Jasmine, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and Belle. My 3 DDs had a great time. I chose this meal because of the princesses, but I was pleasantly surprised about the food. We all thought it was very good. I don't eat any seafood, but I thought the cold buffet had plenty of delicious salads, cheeses, and rolls. My DH and I both really enjoyed our hot meals, as did my DDs. The dessert plate was the only part we didn't love. It was just okay. Overall I would definitely recommend it, but I've never been to CRT so I can't really compare the two. Have fun!!

Dinner at the castle DOES NOT have princesses, just Fairy Godmother.

We did lunch at the castle, and lunch at Norway in May, I recommend Norway, DD was 5.

We did both last year. My girls ended up falling asleep in the castle and missed everything. They stayed awake at Norway but the food was not very good and they did not eat. Both places had alot of princesses though.

We are only doing the castle when we go back in April.

We did breakfast in the Askerhaus and truly enjoyed it. The kids ate lots and they got to see five female characters: Belle, Mary Poppins, Jasmine, Mulan and Snow White.

I thought it was a nice experience, though service wasn't too great.

We've done breakfast at CRT and dinner at Norway....We absolutely prefer CRT. The dinner in Norway took forever for seating (despite ADRs) and the area where you wait is really crowded. Also, the food was a little too weird for my kids (the adults liked it). We will not do Norway agina, but have an ADR for breakfast at Cindy's again the next time we go.

We did both for breakfast in May. I thought the food and princess interaction were better at Norway. My DD (5 at the time) would pick the castle though - 'cause, well it is Cinderella's Castle. In the future I might try Norway for breakfast again and the princess one at the Grand Floridian for a change. Good luck and I sure the kdis will love it no matter where you go.

Haven't been able to get reservations at the castle, but we did the Epcot Princess bfast and it was wonderful. The food was excellent, and my girls LOVED having the princesses each come to our table. We will do it again as well as Chef Mickey's.

canadabean, pay attention to this post!!! CRT DOES NOT have a princess dinner like the ones we are used to in the morning. At CRT, you will come into the lobby, stand in a line to have a picture made with Cinderella (you may get an autopgraph and take your own picture also, but you will have a VERY limited time with Cinderella, and this is the only time you will see her.) Upstairs, you will see the Fairy Godmother and Susie and Perla, her mice friends, but they have a standard show and did not visit with each table (although they did stop by a few and have a picture made.)

If you want to see princesses, choose a breakfast - dinner at CRT is not the best choice for you!!

We did a CRT breakfast last June. We saw Cinderella, where she posed for MANY photos and talked to my 3 yr old. Then went upstairs, where my DD3 was given a Fairy Godmother wand, and my DS8 got a sword. We saw Fairy Godmother, Aurora, Belle, and Snow White. They all came to the table for photos and autographs, and Fairy Godmother and Belle both chatted with the kids. Leaving, my son went back to see Cinderella again, as he changed his mind and decided he did want his picture with Cinderella! The food was the best we had all week! We didn't have a long wait, were not rushed at all, and had more than we could possibly eat. Well worth 2 TS on DDP. My suggestions: have breakfast as late as possible, because you won't want lunch, and have your princess dress up for the occasion. My daughter's favorite photo is the one of "2 Cinderellas in our castle!" princess:
