We just returned yesterday from WDW. We chose the Princess Storybook dinner in Norway after having gotten reservations for the castle but cancelling them after reading this site.

It was a GREAT decision. We had personal interaction with Princess Aurora, Mary Poppins, Jasmine, Belle and Ariel!! It was worth every penny. (around $100 for 2 adults, 2 kids- including one alcohol beverage each for the 2 adults)

The food was very good. You get a cold appetizer buffet(full of all kinds of meats, cheeses, breads, salads), an entree(I got the salmon w/pasta, hubby got potatos and meat) The kids got pasta w/out sauce and a hot dog. All was eaten and liked. Dessert was for the whole table(not liked by my kids but they're picky)

Our reservations were at 4:45 pm, which was perfect timing. We ate and we're out at the park by 6:15pm. This was a great choice for us. Afterwards we got to see China, The Seas, and the Land. Excellent!

Thanks for the review! DGrD(3) and I have a 4:40 ADR for this on our first day! Do you remember which dresses Belle and Ariel were wearing? We are keeping our fingers crossed for Snow White instead of Mary P (whom we will see at 1900 Park Faire early that morning). :smooth:

Enjoyed reading your review ~ Thanx for sharing.

Belle was in her blue "peasant" dress.

Betting on Snow White might be a bad move. The operator never mentioned her but did mention Alice, who was not there.

Snow White was in Toon Town, in the building next to Mickey's house. We got to see her, Aurora again and Cinderella! The wait was about 30 minutes. While my DH and DD waited for the princesses my son and I went in the middle line to see Chip and Dale. No wait hardly and we then got in line with the rest of the family to see the princesses. The cast members didn't much like this line splitting BUT it worked for us.

Have fun. It really was magical. :sunny:

Thanks for the review, I was hesitant to try here with my picky eaters but my DD4 would love it.

We went to Akershus last year for lunch and really enjoyed it. Snow White was "sick" that day, so we had Cinderella instead, which was a real treat for DD. The interaction was great, and I liked the food. If you have picky eaters, order the least expensive entree and make a sandwich at the cold buffet bar. I had what we would call meatloaf and it was really good. The server recommended it. The salmon was good too - DH had it.

I highly recommend it.

What made you cancel Cinderella's castle and go with Princess Storybook dinner? We are going in May 07 for the first time with our kids 2(ds) and 4(dd). I am very confused as to what Character dining experience will fit our family. DD loves the Princesses and DS loves Mickey. Cinderella's castle seems awfully expensive for a family of 4 for breakfast....almost $200. Any advise.....Help!!!!!!

We're not sure where to eat for the princesses this time. Last time we ate at CRT for breakfast and I will not do that again. Long wait, then hurry hurry to your table, eat quick, hurry, no refills on drinks, hurry hurry, bye, thanks for coming. That's exactly how we felt. They seat a large portion of the restaurant together and then you leave at the same time. At least that's how it was when we were there.

Thanks for sharing your review. We have ressies for lunch on Dec. 12th and were a little worried about the menu. We will have two 14 year old teen with us so the kid menu will be out the window.

We visited in Feb and also went to the storybook dinner. We were told there would be 4 or 5 Princesses but not Cinderella. We were suprised because she was there along with Belle, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, and Alice in Wonderland. The food was good. My 3 year old daughter had a wonderful time. It was the highlight of our visit.

My DD and I had lunch last June at Akershus. The portrait was with Aurora. Doing the rounds at the tables were Ariel in her green dress, Snow White, Mulan, Jasmine, and Cinderella.

We'd met Cinderella at lunch at the castle 2 days before and my DD chastised her for not remembering her... :rotfl: ... it wasn't the same Cindy, but she didn't realize it...

We ate here for breakfast with the princess in 07. It was really good. Food was kinda iffy. You have to want what they put out. Salmon and lox, very foreign type of food. But daughter loved seeing the princesses. They were up close and personal. The pics turned out great. I would definitely do the lunch next time. I didn't know that was an option as DH made all our reservations.

Wow! This is an old thread!!:scared1:
To update - back in '06 we saw Ariel in her green dress at the dinner - in Nov 08 we saw Belle in her gold dress for lunch - other princesses were Snow White, Aurora and Cinderella. I really like the atmosphere at Akerschus (sp?!)- the princesses don't seem as rushed as they sometimes do at CRT - although we always enjoy seeing them there, too! My DGrD(5) can't get too much of the princesses - I wish that would never end!:goodvibes
