Just wondering if any of you have done any of the Princess Storybook meals without kids. It's just the DH and I, but I think this would be a fun meal. We've done lots of other character meals without hesitation, but I wasn't sure about this one. Also, does anyone have a preference as to which meal is better...Breakfast, lunch, or dinner? Thanks!

We LOVE character meals and always slot in 2-3 on each trip. However we hated the Akershus dinner experience on our last trip. I think we were spoiled by what Akershus used to be - a quality restaurant which was an oasis of calm serving very good food. I would defend it to the hilt each time I came on to these forums. However on our last trip, we stood outside in the pouring rain for 40 mins. The CMs were barely able to cope with the crowds. When we did get in, we noticed that the tables were much closer together and there seemed to be very little personal space. The noise was deafening - I expect loads of noise with character meals but this was really bad. The food was nothing like the wonderful hot buffet in the past, with the hot food being plated up - it wasnt nice. The cold food was still great . We love fish and the choices were almost as good as ever. However the wonderful individual desserts of yesteryear were just slop on a plate. I hate what Akershus has become. As I say, I love character meals and I did enjoy watching the little kids faces as they met the princesses, but the place was the most chaotic character venue we have ever had a meal in. I would love to go back but only if at least one meal were character free. That isnt going to happen though. :sad2:

We did a bunch of character meals on our trip about 2 weeks ago. We didn't care for the Princess Storybook Dining. It was okay. Subdued. Food was okay. All of the other character meals were fun. We did dinner. Maybe dinners are subdued. :confused3 Not on our revisit list.

We did the lunch on our trip in Sept. The food was decent, but the tables were on top of each other and the princess interaction was HORRIBLE! They came by the table and were very obviously rushed and Jasmine was downright snotty to DS4. :confused3

I wouldn't do it again.......

Sorry for a naive question but what and where are Princess Storybook meals??

The restaurant Akershus in the Norway pavilion used to have the Disney princesses visit table to table for breakfast. The other meals used to be so 'quiet' as someone put it because no one was eating there and the restaurant was going to go under if they didn't do something.
They added the princesses to lunch and dinner as well to keep Akershus afloat and allow it to make some money. Unfortunately a lot of princess people don't like Norwegian food and a lot of food people don't like the princesses so the addition was not popular with everyone.
