I wanted to do one character meal that is more geared towards our 3 year old and these are the 2 that I can't seem to pick between.

She LOVES princesses... especially Snow White.

She also loves all of the shows on Playhouse Disney.

So in your opinion, which would you think would be best?

Or if you've been to both, which did you prefer?

TIA!

I took my DD5 to WDW this past June. She chose the Storybook Princess Breakfast. The Playhouse Disney meal was not an option at that time. We did not do PD at MGM because she was TOO BIG for it.

I really enjoyed the Princess Breakfast. We you are called in you get in line and have your picture taken with a Princess (in our case it was Belle), you can also take pics. (they bring these around later for you to buy) Belle did not circulate the room, but did sign autographs after taking the pictures.

The meal is family style - all you care to eat. The sweet rolls are like butta :rotfl: You get the usual breakfast fare. Eggs, potatoes, meat, fruit, drinks.

While you are eating the Princesses start to circulate the room, entering one at a time. We had Snow White, Jasmine, Sleeping Beauty & Mulan. Each stopped for autographs, pictures and conversation.

I found that the more you talk to them the longer they stay. DD5 is really into Mulan (her best friend was born in China and she loves all things Chinese.) Mulan stayed for quite a while at the table.

I think that if your little ones are into the princesses they will love this meal.

Hope it helped.

We're heading back in April and this meal is on the plan. DGP will love the ladies :rotfl2:

Do Playhouse Disney, she will only love those characters for such a short time, do it now while you can. Next time... do the Princess breakfast. My DD(5) is still Princess crazy and I know 8 year olds that are too. But Bear etc. are "babyish" to her now.
(And isn't Playhouse Disney a temporary attraction too... do it now before it goes away, the Princess will be there forever!) :goodvibes

I would pick Playhouse Disney. Ours Girls loved the Princess Breakfast at Norway but the Playhouse one sounds like alot of fun for that age group.

We did the PSB breakfast twice. Both times we waited over 45 minutes after our ADR time. First time we went was fantastic. Second time, not so much. Princesses were rushed; Jasmine scowled at us when dd knocked over her milk and wouldn't even stay for a picture. Gee, thanks. But dd loved it both times (I was the annoyed one). We are doing Playhouse Disney this year (DD is 4). From most of the reviews I've read, it sounds like they have great interaction with the children. And is my dd into interaction!!

Have fun whatever you decide!

100% agree about the age limit to the Playhouse Disney :goodvibes

i've been around both and i would suggest the Play-N-Dine. the atmosphere there is a lot more upbeat and younger children tend to have more fun there. there are the play pals who sing fun songs and the characters dance with kids during this time (it's about every 15-20 minutes) and not as many people know about it, so the kids get a lot more time with the characters and then the characters keep coming back to play where as the princesses only visit once per meal and you're lucky if you get a whole minute with them. plus i personally think the food is so much better!!! i've eaten there atleast once a year and i'll continue to eat there.

OK... I'm thinking now maybe I've missed something? Is Playhouse Disney and Play-N-Dine the same thing and is it always there???
If so, what restaurant is it at? Is it maybe not on the dining plan so that I wouldn't have seen it? (Thinking that while my DD5 is past it, my DS would LOVE IT!!!)

Play & Dine Is at MGM Hollywood & Vine. I just checked out a link for info on the dining plan, and I saw it listed. It doesn't say Play and Dine...just Hollywood & Vine.

We took our two DDs (ages 20 months & 4 at the time) to the PSB at Norway in October 2005. Both of them loved it. My DD4 was the only little girl in the restaurant dressed as Belle, so we got extra special attention from her when she came around. The food was pretty good, although my girls didn't eat much (except for the cinnamon rolls).

We're going back to WDW in Jan 07 and I've got ADRs at the Playhouse Disney lunch at Hollywood & Vine. We were going to do CRT, but decided to do a dinner at 1900 Park Fare and this lunch instead. That way, they'll get a little bit of princess interaction and their Playhouse Disney favorites (Little Einsteins & JoJo) as well. We're doing lunch because our girls just don't eat much for breakfast. I figured it was a better use of our TS credits on the DDP.

Playhouse Disney is at Hollywood & Vine. It's new, so they have not started advertising it yet. We were just there on Aug. 7 and LOVED it. My travel agent (Small World Vacations) suggested it and I'm so glad that she did. My grandson is 3 1/2 and Little Einsteins is one of his favorite shows. When we arrived he was still sleepy and hungry from our flight the day before. June came over to him and spent quite a while with him. As soon as he ate some breakfast he perked up and was out there singing and and dancing and having a great time. The food was typical breakfast buffet, but we all thought it tasted really good. Ii would recommend doing this meal while your daughter is still young enough to enjoy the characters. The princesses will be around a long time!

Thanks! I wondered why I didn't have it on our "must do" list.
We aren't doing MGM this time, we will do it next time when the kids are older. I had a look at the characters though and since we don't get the Disney Channel (only selected shows the Canadian children's station picks up), I think Bear in the Big Blue House is the only character my kids would recognize. So for us, the princesses and Mickey will still win out, but I still think the OP should go for Playhouse Disney.
