How long does it take to get to Norway from the front?

Our ressies are for 8:35 a.m. on a day that opening is for 9 a.m.

I was hoping to leave Pop Cent. by 7:30 a.m.

Too early, not early enough?

And if my MIL ends up on a scooter as is a possibility, that makes it even slower a trip.

And is there still a line for checking in for the breakfast at the gate?

I keep thinking it is quite a hike back there. Never had to beeline to World showcase before!

It's our first TS, on our first day, so I want it to go smoothly!

Thanks in advance!

No, that is probably not to early, and yes, it really is quite a hike. I could not believe the amount of time that it takes to walk straight back to Norway from the front of the park. We left POP in what I thought would be plenty of time, but we were almost late because of the walk. My poor mother was about ready to tell us to go on ahead and sit down and rest :lmao: I did finally tell DH to go on ahead and check us in and we would be along shortly just so we could slow down our walking pace to match my mom.

Yikes, that's what I thought. Hmmm...do ya think I should leave earlier? I'm not sure what the first seating time is, I think we have one of the earliest, and of course they say to check in a few minutes early.

This sounded like a good idea at the time! LOL
Maybe I will get everyone up and at 'em really early. Rather stand in line for the earliest bus and wait around at the gate a bit than be late.

Thanks!

[Will take any other advice anyone has also!]

This is what we did. Oct 06 we had 8:35 am ressies for the Princess Breakfast. Checked out of the POR and drove to Epcot. THey let us in the parking lot at 7:55. We were the first ones in the gate and the first ones in the park. We went to get the stroller and since we were the first we got it for free and the girls got special crowns

We made it to Norway by 8:20 and we took our time getting there. We were seated right at away. We met with Belle. They sat us to the far left, across from the kitchen. There is a brown door in the wall, that is where the Princesses come out of so if you are seated there you will be the first to see them. We saw Aurora first, then Mulan and then Ariel came out...the 3 year old was going nuts she was so happy. The food was very good and the refills on the platter came quickly. There was one more Princess to come out but the kids wanted to leave after seeing Ariel.

Ok, that's good to know.

I forgot to add that if we need a scooter, we will have to rent it before we go to breakfast, and was wondering if that's possible. So I guess you answered the question I hadn't asked yet. Nice! :goodvibes

Hoping Ariel is at our breakfast. Sounds like she's usually at lunch, but my little girls would be so excited to see her! :wizard:

Thats what the Dis is all about, helping each other plan, giving out great advice, reviews and tips!

Have a great time!

I agree with the others. We had an 8:30 ADR on our last trip and didn't factor in enough time for the hike from the front gate. We were also surprised to see long lines of people trying to get in until we located the correct entrance. It was a good 20 min/half hour sprint (or at least it seemed that way with the anxiety of feeling late!!). But the breakfast and look on my daughter's face on her birthday to be with the princesses was worth every minute!!! You will have an amazing time no matter where you sit or who is there. I just wouldn't plant the idea of Ariel being there and she wouldn't know to be disapointed. Have a great time!!!

Is the back entrance by BoardWalk open at that time? Seems that that would be closer.

Yes it is open and it is closer. But, that does not really help a guest who is not trying to enter Epcot from one of the Epcot resorts.

Exactly, and because there will be at least 13 of us, if not 15, a taxi is out.
We have to get there with the buses. But I appreciate the thought on that one!

I am planning now on leaving Pop at 7 am, and if we are way too early, so be it. Rather early than rushing with nine small kids, a person with an injured knee, and potentially a grandma on a scooter.
We will be quite the parade, no? :rotfl:

You all have been a very great help to us! Thanks!
