Princess Storybook Dining

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am going in Feb. with DH, DDs 3 1/2, 2 1/2 & 7 mths, my mom and her husband...We are on the DDP and currently have 2 story book dinners planned so the girls can have a lot of princess exposure. How is the food there? There are 2 picke eaters in the group (the men!) and I would love feedback about the food and about the experience. Is 2 times too much? We are also doing Chef Mickey's and Hollywood &Vine before Fantasmic.

Thanks for any feedback!!

No sure which one your are doing. But we did the one in Norway this past December and I thought the food was very good. Although, I am a bit of a foodie and love to try different things. We went for lunch and they have a buffet table with meats, cheeses, bread, salad, etc. and then you order an entre off the menu. The kids eat off the buffet and then have a choice of hot dog and one other item - pizza, I think.

We were just there last week. The Norway breakfast was quite good, and we saw 5 Princesses - Belle in her yellow dress was at the front to take picts with; Mulan, Aurora, Jasmine, and Snow White. Later, we saw each of these princesses in the country of her origin in the World Showcase. They were all exceptionally sweet and nice, esp. Mulan, who remembered DD's name and that it was her birthday.

As for the food, I thought the breakfast was very good. There was a buffet with pastries, fruit, and cheese; a large plate of fruit, scrambled eggs, bacon, and sausage was brought to the table. DD has a peanut allergy, and the chef made her a special pancake that was not on the menu, which was a very nice gesture.

Now, for lunch and dinner, I hear the menu is traditonal Norwegian fare, which may or may not appeal to you and your kids! ;)

We went in November and did the Storybook lunch, along with other meals. Frankly, I don't think we will do the Storybook meal again. I did not leave full and felt like it was a lot to pay for what you got. It's just a cold buffet (for lunch) and then the entrees were not a huge portion. Plus, we had already seen all of the princesses there except Esmerelda.

Frankly, for our money, we all much preferred the Cinderella dinner at 1900 Park Fare. We all left stuffed and the characters there were just amazing. Perla came to our table several times and interacted with the kids every single time. DH got all of the Prime Rib he wanted and all of the food was wonderful.

If it were me, I'd cancel at least one of your dinners and plan to eat somewhere else for one of them. And I would highly, highly recommend dinner at 1900 Park Fare. But that's just me.

Was only the Fairy Godmother at 1900 park? I'm not familiar with Perla.
Thanks!

We also did the 1900 Park Fare dinner - Cinderella's Gala Feast, I think it's called - on DD's 5th birthday. We were greeted by the Fairy Godmother and then saw Suzy and Perla the mice (Suzy is blue, Perla is purple) who were adorable with both of my girls, esp. my 17 month old toddler. Then Cinderella and Prince Charming came out and interacted quite a bit with everyone.

The food was very good. DH loved the carving stations. And there was pizza for my picky eaters, so we all had plenty to eat. I had pre-ordered a special birthday cake for dd who turned 5 that day. It was brought out and everyone sang to her. By the end of the meal, DD was dancing around with several other little Cinderellas. Oh, almost EVERY little girl was dressed as a princess, most of them Cinderella. Very cute. princess:
