DD5 is having a princess birthday party this weekend. I found some good ideas for activities online, but I wanted to do a scavenger hunt for the girls to find their goodie bags. I am hoping to use clues related to each princess. My plan (if it doesn't rain) is to have the treasure chest in the sand box and have the last clue be something like "Ariel wants to spend a day warm on the ______ ". I also plan to have a clue directing the girls to the book case (Belle) and might have a clue hidden with a stuffed elephant with something about Jasmine's friend Abu being turned into an elephant by Genie (I don't have a stuffed monkey). Any other ideas for the other princesses? For Snow White, I could hide a clue in the refrigerator drawer with the apples, but I am not sure how to word it (I am trying to make the clues rhyme if I can). Any ideas for Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty? DD8 will help the girls with the clues, so they should not be too hard but can be a little challenging. Has anyone ever done this?

Thanks for any ideas! I thought someone on this board had probably done this before! :goodvibes

Not BTDT, but:

Snow White: could place clues at the bathroom mirror

Cinderella: If you have a fireplace, the clue could be on the hearth.

Sleeping Beauty: Are the kids allowed to your daughter's room? If so, use her bed as a clue station.

I'm not a good rhymer, so that's a bit beyond me. :)

Thanks! I thought about her bed, but then I wondered if the girls would tear up the house trying to find it. Maybe I can put in the clue to look in her room so they know where to start. Love the Snow White and Cinderella ideas, too - thanks!

My DD turned 5 today, and we're also having a princess party on Friday. princess: I love the scavenger hunt idea. Sounds fun! As we're in IL, we definitely will not be going outside, and I'm not brave enough to turn 11 (yes, 11. I know, I'm crazy!) girls loose in my house to look for clues.

Another thought for Cinderella is to put it with your daughter's shoes.

When Sleeping Beauty needed to rest her head,
She waited for the Prince in DD's (bed).

Ariel thinks having legs is grand,
She wants to spend a day warm in the (sand).

Before the ball, Cinderella had so much to do,
After the ball, she lost her (shoe).

Belle is known for her good looks,
But she loves to read good (books).

Cheesy, I know. :rotfl: But hopefully they'll give you a start. I can't think of anything to rhyme with apple. Too bad the dwarves didn't drink Snapple! :rotfl2:

DD's actual birthday is today, too! We are having 9 girls including DD (one friend will be out of town). I am OK with sending them out (in a pack) to find clues, especially since I am going to enlist the help of DD8, but I want the clues to be specific enough that they know which room to search. Thanks for the ideas!
