Princess Peanut's WISH Trip CWF/GKTW Pre-Trip Report! *We're HOME - Pg.37*

Hi Lori! :yay: I'll look in to Ausherhaus as well, thanks for the tip. I didn't realize the other places were buffet meals. :rolleyes1 And thanks for the healthy vibes, we need it. The kids are still quite sick, and i'm feeling even worse. Peanut is still spiking fevers too, ugh. :sad2:

No idea about the food issue sorry.
Hope peanut is feeling better soon.

Okay, I need some help figuring some things out.

I've been looking online at all the parks you get tickets for through the Wish Trip. From what I understand, you get a 3 day pass to Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom. 2 day pass to Universal Studios and Island of Adventure, and a 1 day pass to Sea World. Is that correct?

What exactly is there to do at Epcot? Is it kid friendly/exciting for younger kids? I know, probably a stupid question, eh? What about Universal Studios and IOA? There just didn't seem like all that much to do at Universal Studios or IOA. There is Seussville or whatever it is called, at IOA, right? Anything else worth seeing? There is a ton we want to see/do at Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios though.

For my tentative schedule, I have 1 full day at MK, 1 full day at Epcot (but i'm not sure if its needed?), 1 day at IAO and Universal Studios (roughly half day at each), 1 day at MK and Hollywood Studios (roughly half day each). Ideally, I would rather have 2 full days at MK, and 1 full day at Hollywood Studios, but then we can't do Epcot - which I want to...I think.

I just don't know how much time to allot to each place. :rolleyes1

Also, what about Downtown Disney? Is that worth seeing? How much time should I allot for that?

Are there any beaches near GKTW? Can you do Sea World in just a few hours? The main thin we would want to go for is to feed the dolphins.

Has anyone ever bought an additional day pass to MK? Is it worth it?

Oh and I booked Cape May Cafe, there seems to be a good mix of Characters, and Akershus both for Breakfasts. YAY! :cool1: Good choics? I looked at 1900 Park Fare, but the Princesses are only there at dinner, and I want to do them in the morning so we don't have to be watching a clock all day. I wasn't able to get times for Chef Mickey at all, completely booked.

Kristy..i'm sorry for all you have been through:hug:.Kylee was just about peanut weight at that age too, so I know the stress. We too had the weekly appts. Even though Kylee is still FTT, she is hang on to her curve now. I just don't strees about it anymore. I think when she was 6 is when the weight finally was coming on....slowly though. I hope Peanut and Monkey are feeling better now.

Etsy is so addicting. I did buy Kylee a Dr Suess pillowcase dress about 3 month ago. It's so cute, but I wouldn't buy anything yet;).

We did not to go to Epcot on Jason's trip, but plan to hit it this time because the kids are older.
I have to say Sea world was our favorite day of our trip. The kids loved it. The beach was a good hour away, we went to coco beach.
We skipped universal too :rolleyes1 but plan on going to Harry Potter this time around :banana::banana:

I've followed your PTR, and its so great to see your kids so happy. I went quite a long time not stressing this much about her FTT. I HATE that label, ugh. But she was stable, growing and gaining. It was very slow going, but it was progress. Its just so hard seeing her health decline, watching her get smaller and smaller, despite everything we are doing for her. It just makes you feel so very helpless. :sad1:

I love pillowcase dresses, they are just SO cute. Do you have a picture of Kylee wearing hers? I'd love to see it. :)

We have no desire to see HP, so that isn't a reason we need to go. I just thought we should go, lol. I figured since I booked Akershus and we need to go to Epcot anyways, we could visit it too. I dunno. :confused3

Is it possible to do Epcot and Hollywood Studios in the same day? I was originally thinking that we could do IOA and Universal Studios in the same day. Then we could do two full days at Magic Kingdom. Is it just too much to do two parks in one day? I just really think we need more then one day at Magic Kingdom. I looked up buying an additional day pass, and it would be over 300$. :sad2:

I bet you could do both in one day without a problem.

Ahhh, I dunno. I know we can't see everything, I know its not possible. I just want to make the most of what we have. Its so hard to figure this all out.

I don't have a picture of her in it, but this is the dress.

I heard people doing half day at Epcot and DHS. We have never been so we want to do an all day there.

Awe, the dress is so cute. Are you taking it to Disney? We've never been to Epcot or Hollywood Studios either. So I think it would be nice to experience both. I just don't know what to do. I mean, is it worth it to spend 300$+ to get an addtional day at Disney? I think my husband would have a heart attack if I suggested we spend that kind of $$, lol!

First, I totally agree about the price at the character meals being outrageous and it not being right to charge a NON eating individual the full price.

We are probably different than many families in the fact that ALL of our children, even at very young ages absolutely LOVE Epcot...I personally think it is a two day park, just hitting the highlights and there is LOTS of character interaction...even more now that the fairies will be there. We LOVE Norway, it is a NOT to be missed country in my opinion and we loved Akershus. We have MANY favorite places!

DTD is good for shopping and the Lego store has some outside tables to build and a little play area with slide...IF you are crunched for time, I would skip it because there will be so much to do at GKTW...just my two cents...I think you are just going to have to pick some highlight's then plan to regroup as you see what you really WANT to do...I think it will change as your week evolves...EVERYONE will see Disney from a different perspective...

(Kris, love the Seuss dress).

I just talked to a friend this morning who just came back from Disney, and she said Epcot was great too, and that they saw A LOT of characters - which is definitely key.

I think maybe i'll just stick to the original plan of 1 full day at MK, 1 full day at Epcot, then a half day at Hollywood Studios and another half day at MK (same day, just half day at each). I keep hearing good things about Epcot, and worst case, if we go and are not enjoying ourselves (unlikely i'm sure), then we can leave early. WHY do I question myself after the fact? lol!

I was thinking of doing DTD on our last day. Since its a travel day, I thought it would be a good day to do that. It seems like a fun place to go, and I do want to see it.

I'd like to see some itinerary's from other Wish trippers, it might help me. Hmm, i'll have to try and find some.

Maybe i'll just post my tentative itinerary for some input. I think because we have never been (well my husband and I went as kids once but don't really remember much), that I worry we don't know enough about what to do and what to see. I worry we will miss something really important, which I know is silly since its impossible to do everything. :rolleyes1

We LOVE Epcot! (Did I mention we LOVE  Epcot!!!)

I think the last day would be perfect for DTD, excellent day to go (we end up at DTD on our last day).

I posted some links on the Wish Trip Thread, so you could see IN the villas. :goodvibes

You know, i've been meaning to ask you, do you guys like Epcot? Should we go, or just skip it all together? :rotfl: ;)

I saw the links, thanks so much. :goodvibes

:love:LOVE IT!:love: One tip...Nemo, in our opinion, is NOT worth a long wait...it is over before you blink...we got on (and off) and were like...this is it?

Glad you saw the links, the inside of the villas look as wonderful as the outside...

Good to know about Nemo, it was on our list of things to see there. Hmmm...something to think about.

On a side note, I booked T-Rex last night for when we hit DTD on our last day! :cool1:

Thought I would chime in on your plans...add me to the LOVE EPCOT list!!! :lovestruc And I find the rides etc to be a bit more relaxing, I can't really describe it but things like Spaceship Earth (the big old silver golfball) take a while to ride but there is so much to see the whole time, and you are sitting and there is AC. Some people say the countries aren't for kids and my son was too young to really appreciate it last time, but there is so much to do and look at and so many shows going on right outside as you are walking around. It's great!

Here's the thing, if you hate it, you can leave through the International Gateway exit, hop on a boat and be at DHS in about 20mins!! The gateway is between France and the UK. It also takes you to the Boardwalk area (did you say you were doing Cape May for breakfast?! You can get right into Epcot there!). Honestly, DHS is only meh to me :confused3 Seems like the rides we would like (Toy STory mania for instance) always is so crowded and we have yet to get on it, even with trying to get a Fast pass. And some of the shows are great but they are too long for my kids to sit through. This trip we are planning only a half day there.

We are also planning DTD for our last day, it is fun over there but totally something to drop from the plan if you need to drop anything. T Rex is so cool! Never ate there but stopped in for a drink and to cool off last year. it can get loud and we were afraid it would scare my son but nope! He loved it!

Hope some of this info helps!!! And hope you all are feeling better!

Great job getting T-Rex. Bet you are going to have fun there.

I'm really excited too. I think the kids will love it! :upsidedow

I figure with most of our plans, if we aren't enjoying whatever we are doing, then we can change things up. Nothing is in stone, its just an idea of what we want to do and where we want to go. I like plans, lol, but I can go with the flow too if needed. I don't want to wish we had gone to certain places after the fact, you know?

I am feeling a wee bit better, but I went to the Drs today anyways. I am now on 10 days of antibiotics. Blech, they are HUGE horse pills I have to take twice a day. But if it makes me feel better, i'm all for it. The kids are on antibiotics too (2 eaach), so hopefully they start to really turn around soon. Monkey is on steroids and OMG, its awful. One minute he is happy, one minute he is sad, the next he is angry, its been quite...challenging to say the least. Thank goodness he is done those tomorrow, and then he only has one left through the weekend.

Today has been a rough day. We had to be at the hospital this afternoon for something good (Peanut is the poster child - for lack of a better term, for a new program they started today), so they wanted her there when did the unveiling - YAY. While we were there, we got in to see her Paed because we have been having problems with her tube feedings (her tube kept clogging while on feeds). Peanut was really backed up, therefore affecting her feeds since they go in her small bowel (which we knew because of how distended and hard her belly was). So she had to have an enema :( but at least she is probably cleaned out now . BUT, Peanut is down in weight again (and this was BEFORE the enema :rolleyes1), so she might be getting admitted on Friday after her appt. :sad2: Her Paed wants to see what her weight is on Friday. I hope not, but i'm really stressed (maybe posting this here will be our good luck and she won't be admitted - stranger things have happened ;)). Her Dr is quite concerned, especially with her weight dropping so much. If she gets admitted, it could be for weeks, on TPN. :( Obviously a lot more was discussed, but i'm just too tired right now. We are also having trouble controlling her headaches (possible seizures). So she increased her seizure meds, and they are putting her in such a deep sleep that i'm worrying about her breathing. Not to mention, that after we gave them to her, she started getting ANOTHER headache. ARGH, the meds are supposed to prevent them. Siiigh...Anyways, not a fun Disney post. But its all I have right now. :rolleyes1

Hugs for you and peanut how stressful.
Are they changing up her feedings to add more weight on?
Wish I was closer to hold your hand as you go thought this
