Princess Peanut's WISH Trip CWF/GKTW Pre-Trip Report! *We're HOME - Pg.37*

Just reading your story. I feel for you and your little Peanut. She's been through so much. Hope she gets to disney and has an amzing trip :)

Please don't be discouraged if you don't get a personalized response from the Disney Dining Number. From what I understand, they are at a central location and give everyone very standard answers. I have been hanging out on the DIS off and on for a long time (even before I registered) and have seen this question multiple times....it first caught my attention because Lisa has a feeding tube and eating has always been an issue for us. i DO think you will have Pixie Dust sprinkled on you at the Dining Destination...maybe I am too much of a Pollyanna, but I DO Believe!!!

Naaah, you aren't too Pollyanna, lol. I think its great to be so optimistic. :goodvibes I haven't had a chance to call yet, so fingers crossed we get some straight answers. I didn't realize that Lisa had a feeding tube as well. What is her feeding schedule like?

Checking in to see how things are going :lovestruc

Hello, thanks for checking in! We are just forging along this week, not much new to report. We go back in Friday, and it should be a long, interesting appt. Lots to talk about, so i'll take any lucky vibes you can share. :upsidedow

Hi Lisa, thanks for checking in and asking about Peanut. :goodvibes Its been another week of ups and downs but we are all doing okay. Shes down more weight this week, but we managed to avoid an admission. PHEW! They replaced two of her meds with new ones, its an adjustment. I am just frustrated in general, and having an off week myself (which has equated to me not being around here much, or wanting to post much when I am around - though I am reading). We went to the States this week, and bought some summer stuff for the kids, I had to buy 18 months (or 18-24 months) bottoms for Peanut. 18 months, and they are roomy. Good thing we have pant clips for her bottoms, because we will certainly need them for some of her shorts from last summer that are size 2. :rolleyes1

I'm just having a tough time getting in to the planning of our trip. We are SO excited, but i'm guarded. Guarded that something will happen and the trip will be postponed (which I know deep down won't happen), but everything going on around us right now (and all this stress) is holding me back from really getting excited. Its crazy, because our trip is only about 6 weeks out - WOW!! :cool1: I did up an itinerary about 2 weeks ago, so thats exciting. I'll have to post it soon for some feedback - being a newbie at Disney and all, we need all the suggestions we can get. lol!

Anyways, i'm rambling...how are you? :upsidedow

I hope the new meds can help her put on some weight!
glad you could get some shopping in, hope it was fun!

yes, please share your initerary, I will be happy to help with any questions you might have...we haven't been to WDW for 3 years, but could try and answer the best I can....and I sure others will jump in to help too!

hope you are staying well and rested! don't worry about rambling, when it comes to our kids, that's what we do!

we are doing good, Megan had her friend over last night for a sleepover (no school today) they had a blast! I got a bunch of my scrapbooking swaps done so that was good for me!

just to let you know.....watch for the postman in the next couple of days :rolleyes1 hope it will brighten up the kids day!!

take care and give the kiddo's some  from us!

Add weight peanut, add weight please. You need to stop freaking your mom, dad and me out
Sorry she went down a pants size :sad2:

Can't wait to hear your plans popcorn::

Shopping is fun, I love little kids clothes, lol. I just didn't realize that shopping for Peanut would stress me out even more. Oiy. :rolleyes1 Its a good thing shes cute. ;)

Has Megan had Spring Break yet? Peanuts is next week, so as much as she loves school, the break will be good for her. She only goes half days instead of full days, which was a deal we made with her Dr since they wanted to pull her from school completely. Oooh, a slumber party, I loved those as a kid. Oh to be young again. :lovestruc I hope she had a fun time!

I'll post my itinerary, and maybe some new pics of the kidlets tomorrow. :goodvibes

The kids love to check the mail. ;) Thanks for the big hugs!!

Add weight peanut, add weight please. You need to stop freaking your mom, dad and me out
Sorry she went down a pants size :sad2:

Can't wait to hear your plans popcorn::

Sadly, she hasn't gone down in size. She needs a bigger size in pants because of the length, but we have to use the adjustable waist and yank it in, or use her pant clips (which are a lifesaver). But she doesn't fill them out at all. I guess thats one good perk about summer clothes is that we can buy her sizes that actually fit her and don't just hang on her. Capris sometimes become bermuda shorts, but they are still cute. And fit is so huge (so pun intended), because when the clothes are hanging off her, they just accentuate how small she is. You know?

Thank you for the kind and supportive words. You are always there with a much needed hug! :goodvibes

Megan's spring break is the week of April 4, but I am taking her out of school the week before so we will have two weeks for our trip to GA to visit friends and then the rest in WDW
she is in 5th grade, but I had told her teacher and principal we were doing this trip when school started, they are very supportive of Megan and gave their blessing for the trip!
the girls had a blast and I got a bunch of scrapbooking swaps done, so a win-win for us all!
that's great the dr and school will let Peanut go to school, I'm sure she loves being with her friends and getting to learn.
does she have a favorite book she likes to read???

look forward to seeing your plans and some new photos of your little sweeties, hope everyone gets a great night sleep!

Hi hope this finds yall all better sorry Peanut isnt gaining weight. As for Epcot and Studios you will be able to do in a half day due to the kids ages and size there arent many rides for them at the studios, but at the studios you will get characters that you cant see any where else, go to antimators court and there are lots of charaters, you will want to see the Little Mermaid show Beauty and the Beast these are awsome shows just like brodway performances you need to ride the toy story ride it is awsome do it early in te morning, if you wanted good character interaction they have a breakfast and lunch at hollywood and vine that is the little einstiens, handy manny, you can only see these characters at the studios too you can see them without eating they are over by the little mermaid show, playhouse disney is there too. At Epcot the flower and garden show is going on now Nemos ride is awsome there are really alot more things to do at epcot then people realize. The countrys are awsome and the characters from those countrys will be there too epcot is the only place I have ever seen Marie from Aristocrats. Remember that the characters are dressed differnt at every park. We go at least evey six months in the spring for flower and garden and the fall for food and wine, my youngest daughter is a manager at downtown disney so that helps but we were going before she ever got her job. Oh yea the fairies are at Epcot right now they are not at Magic Kingdom. If there are anymore questions feel free to ask I will help you any way I can or tr to fid out the answer. I hope Peanut has a good weekend and monkey to that i what we call our youngest grandaughter who is 5 and has been to disney about 6 times already I think her little brother went when he was 6 weeks old last fall. She could probablly tell you more than I can about things.

Shes down more weight this week, but we managed to avoid an admission. PHEW! They replaced two of her meds with new ones, and we are also starting her on MCT oil. Its going to be a challenge, especially since she was having a tough time handling the current load of meds and volume and now its more volume, but we need to keep trying so we can hopefully make some progress. :rolleyes1

Kristy,

Praying for you and Peanut. I do hope you don't have to postpone the trip, that has been hard on us having to do that and I KNOW how much you need/deserve this trip. Prayers going up for Peanut to put on some weight and for the doctors to figure out how to help her!
Heart Hugs from all of us!!!

Peanut loves to read anything, she just loves books in general. She of course loves the Princesses, but is really in to Mickey/Minnie. She is also big in to My Little Pony and Strawberry Shortcake these days, so those books she loves. Its hard to find Disney books out here - like Mickey/Minnie and friends books, so when I do find them I have to snatch them up. I'm looking forward to hopefully being able to pick some up when we are in Disney. Her school has been amazing working with us and helping Peanut along. She goes to a french school (all french, not immersion), so its an all day/every day system. Which is good and bad, bad because she can't handle all day/every day. But we'll get there. School in Ontario starts earlier then other Provinces in Canada, and they States. They start Junior Kindergarten (JK) as long as they are 4 before December 31st of that year. So she started back in September, and just loves it. Oooh, 2 weeks of school. Lucky Megan, i'm sure she'll love that!! I'm jealous, lol!

HELLO! :goodvibes Thanks for all the information about the parks. I already had the Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast shows on my life, so its good to hear they are must sees. I think we have decided to do a full day at Epcot now, i'd rather have the full day to explore if we want to, but then we have to option to leave and not be tied down with having to see another park or else. You know? Your Grandkids are veterans at the parks eh? Thats so great!!

Heart Hugs from all of us!!!

I know in my heart the trip won't be postponed, and I would imagine worst case, she would need a nurse to accompany her. Its just hard not to think back about everything she has missed, and everything we as a family has missed, and not think that it will happen this time too, you know? Thank you for the prayers and good thoughts, we are just trying to buy our time until she can get to the new specialists in the States, who can maybe find out the root of all her medical problems so we can finally get her on a healthy path with not only her weight, but with everything else. Its just so hard watching your child struggle so much. Lots of  back to you!!

Loved both shows! My heart belongs to Beauty and the Beast...we were in the front row because of the w/c and as the curtain closed Belle's eyes landed on Lisa...she made a low bow, nearly on the floor and held that pose blowing a kiss to Lisa the entire time....and Lisa's eyes were just shining...so were mine, I was bawling like a baby! (Belle is Lisa's favorite). I am crying now just typing this! Several people in the audience also noticed, it was TRULY magical..I will NEVER forget it! :goodvibes And you KNOW my mad  love for Epcot...excellent plan! :flower3:

I am happy you will not have to postpone, that did hurt at first till I remembered this was all in God's time! I pray everyday you get to come to the States Quickly for eval and help, God bless you all. This trip is going to be such a healing, wonderful time for you! You deserve this and more!!!

Alright, so here is our tentative itinerary...feel free to critique (nicely ;)) or offer any suggestions you think might be help! Remember, we are newbies to this, so i'm just flying by the seat of my pants here. lol!! I also don't know anything about the fireworks or when they are. How do I find this? For Day 7, we have Sea World. We have thought about changing that to a beach day, I think Coco Beach? Peanut has told us many times that she wants to go to the beach, and what better time then on her Wish trip. Now we have to check with her Drs to see if she can with her gj-tube (i'm not sure if she can be under water in the ocean), but is it worth the trip out? They would love Sea World, and it would be nice to do that and go back to GKTW to relax, swim, etc. Siigh, I dunno...And you'll notice 4 days between the Disney parks, we are thinking of buying an additional day pass so we can do another day at MK. We really want to do 2 days there.

I loved what you wrote about the Beauty & the Beast show. Now THAT is the true magic of Disney. Melts my heart. I hope we have some speical moments like that.

And thank you, we are keeping our fingers crossed for some news about the US really soon too. I have to call her GI doc next week, as he wanted us to call him every 2 weeks so he can push the Government. I hope you guys get some information about your trip soon. I can't remember, are you waiting to find out dates? Or have you put the trip on hold. My memory these days...:rolleyes1

Hey!! I just got back from WDW and am all caught up on your plans :lovestruc

First off, LOVE the new pics, the one with the hats and gloves, too cute for words!! :cloud9:

Ok so on to your plans...looks great!! One thing I would suggest, we took my son (he is almost 3) to the Disney Junior playhouse live show in DHS and he LOVED it!!! If you kids are into the Dis shows, try to go. ANd it is a great, low key event, you can all sit, it's inside, lasts about 20mins. Such fun!!

Times for fireworks and parades are pretty standard. Last week, the light parade in MK was at 8, Wishes fireworks at 9, another parade at 10. Fireworks in Epcot are at 9. Not sure about DHS.

Oh in Epcot, be sure to visit the Kidcot centers, the kids get a Duffy bear to color and they get stamps at each country they visit, my son loved that too.

I have never been to Cape May buffet for breakfast but have heard for a handful of people that it is one of the absolute best character meals in the parks so yipee!!! We did Tusker House and loved it!

If you have specific questions, post them!!! I always get so much help from these boards!

Oh and sending some pixie dust for Peanut. Hope the new med combo works some magic. This trip is going to be amazing and I sincerely hope the only worries you have the next few weeks are which ride to ride and Princess to see :wizard:

Welcome back, though i'm sure you wish you were still there. :goodvibes Thanks for all the wonderful information, I appreciate it. I'm glad I posted this early enough so I have time to tinker with it all. I love their hat/mitts too, they love them too. Monkey loves to "roar" whenever he wears his, lol.

HELLO! Thanks for the great information too. :upsidedow We aren't doing AK though, simply not enough time to do our top places, let alone squeezing in one that isn't a must see. The kids are okay with the dark, they have been to Rainforest Cafe before and loved it. So I think they'll do okay at T-Rex.

DHS parade was at 3 or 3.45 last time we were there can't remember which but they've a new parade there now so might be at a different time. DHS fireworks/fantasmic show is on twice most nights me thinks. I know there's one at 8.30 and can't remember the time of the other one

Thanks for the parade & fireworks information. I know we want to see them for sure, the kids would just love it. I knew I could just ask once we got to GKTW or the parks, but i'm a planner, so wanted (errr, needed? ;)) to know now. :rotfl:

I love the photos!....HI!

HI Brooke! :upsidedow Thanks! Of course i'm biased but I think my babes are the cutest. :lovestruc

Awe, thanks! :thumbsup2 I got their hats/mitts at Children's Place, of all places. They get compliments on them whenever they wear them. CWF booked that for her, I believe its one of the top packages that she is getting. Our trip co-ordinator asked us if there was anything specific that Peanut wanted to do, and since she doesn't know much about Disney (other then that the Princesses and Mickey/Minnie live there), I answered for her. I know that she would LOVE BBB, so i'm quite excited about that. As for World Showcase, is this a place in Epcot? Hopefully we can still go the Character meals, like i've mentioned before it depends on what they tell us with regards to the cost for Peanut.
