I am having a princess party for DD in August and I am looking for some ideas. I already got some great ideas from JFulcers DW, She's even going to let me borrow some of her things! YIPEE! (thank you again!!).

Anyone else want to share what you did for your princess?

We will have:
3 five year olds
1 four year old
2 two 1/2 year olds

and 2 very reluctant brothers;)

DS's friend from kindergarten had a princess party this spring. Her mom had gotten some gold paper crowns and some stick on "jewels" for the kids to decorate the crowns with. They had fun with that and it made a nice pic of all the prince and princesses!

Have a great time!

We did this for my DD's 6th bd. FamilyFun.com has a whole set of birthday ideas, including a castle cake, crafts, and games.

We made the pink castle cake, had a pin-the-smootch-on-the-frog-prince game (green posterboard with a frog drawn on, and big red lips cut out of red posterboard), a princess pinata (added some embellishments to a cheap "girl" pinata), made the princess hats, and everyone came dressed up in their best princess stuff.

Good luck and take lots of pictures!:)

Well, I think I am the perfect person to answer this for you! I use to own a children's party facility and we did princess parties all the time!

There is a pin the slipper on Cinderella game, they sell it at most party stores. Same idea as the donkey.

Also, for that age a pull string pinata was always a hit for the kids, they do have one with a princess theme. I always put small toys for children that age. Nothing with long strings like yo yo's.

A huge hit at my facility was ice cream sundaes. This was for every party. I would already have the icecream scooped out in individual bowls. I would put all kinds of toppings in the center of the table. The kids would have a ball making and eating them. I always did this in place of a cake. There are princess cake recipes out there if you go that route.

For the boys, I use to give them the donkey tail stickers to pin on the princess. They would get a kick out of this.

All my parties had a craft time and we would try to gear it to the theme. For boys at a princess party, you can get the foil king crowns and have them decorate it with washable glitter glue, stickers, and jewles. For the girls, you use the princess or queen type crown.

Another huge hit was jewelry boxes. The little girls loved this. They are card board boxes with a gold clasp to close the box. I would paint each a different color and then they would pick their colors, and I would give them all kinds of stickers, jeweles felt shapes, foam shapes and then when they were done decorating, I would write their name in glitter glue on the back of the box.

This next link is to birthday express and I use to use them all the time for my tea party supplies. They are alittle expensive, but they have lots of unique items.

I use to get my pinatas at my local party store, party city. If you go to any party supply store, they should have the pinata.

If you need any more help, let me know.

Why don't you paint their nails? Their too young to really do it themselves, so one at a time have them come up (sounds like a small party). I used to do this with my little sister and all her friends, and then when I was a camp counselor at day camp.

You can use a toothpick, dip it in the polish, and make flowers on their nails. Always a big hit. And if its not good for the party, you could always try it on your DD at home one day :)
