NO!!! Our DD5 is a uber princess. We did Akershus, CRT AND 1900 Park Fare. We saw different characters at each and a few repeaters. And the food was great and different at each. GO FOR IT!
As an idea, here's who we saw. Akershus dinner- Aroura at the door, Cindy, Snow, Ariel and Alice
CRT lunch- Cindy at the door, Fairy Godmother, Belle in blue dress, Snow and Aroura.
1900 dinner- Fairy Godmother at the door, Cindy, Prince Charming, Suzy & Perla the mice.
Also at Epcot- Jasmine and Mulan both showed up regularly, on time with a very little line
NO, it is not overkill, if that's what she wants and you are fine with it, too.
My DD is 8 now, and she is totally OVER the princesses and it breaks my heart! So go as many times as you can. Book the tea with Aurora at the GF if you can fit that in, also. That was sooo special and I am so glad I did it while DD still gave a toot!
No, enjoy while you can. My girls are pretty much over them as well and it's so sad.
Just a warning though. My girls wondered how it was possible we could have the same princess at both meals or they would ask why Sleeping Beauty looked 'different'. Just be prepare with a good explanation!
We did the Akerhaus and CRT dinner and it was the best of both worlds. DD got to "meet" all the characters at Akerhaus and then we got to have a more relaxed dinner at the castle.
When we were at Akerhaus it was Belle yellow dress as greeter, Aurora, Jasmine, Cinderella, and Alice.
CRT dinner is not technically a character meal, but by the end of our trip we were sort of burnt out on the whole autograph thing anyway, since we had several character meals. It was nice to have a meal where we didnt' have to have pens/books ready while we were eating. We had Cinderella in the lobby for pictures and then Fairy Godmother and two mice sang and danced. The mice did come around to every table for pictures and to dance with the kids. Fairy Godmother danced around by every table but didnt' stop. It is a nice alternative if you think it will be too many princess character meals.

When my daughter was 3 yo, she noticed the differences, too...from the meals, character greetings and parades...can't remember what I told her, but it must have worked, she still believed when she went back at 8 yo. and never asked any questions, although I believe she has figued it out - I don't want to ask because i don't want to know...

I had the same question. A CM sent us an autographed pic of Ariel welcoming my DD to the World. She met Ariel at her grotto and later that night was asking why she looked different in our pictures as opposed to the one she signed for her. I was thinking of a good story when she said "OH, I know why". I let her continue "Her hair was wet in the picture but in the grotto she was dry". Worked for me.
I don't think there is such a thing as "princess overkill" to a 5 yo into the princess thing. At least that's how it is in our house with DD (3.5)... it's all princess, all the time! Have fun!!
When we came across duplicate princesses and autographs, I would simply tell the princess, "we met you at Akershus yesterday so you don't need to sign our book." Each princess would say "I remember. It's great to see you again". She then would spend the time she would have spent signing, talking to DD. It made it more relaxing to not have to worry about pens etc and DD loved looking at the princesses again.
