:crazy2: I took my DD (3) and mom (68) to the Princess Storybook lunch in Norway on May 18. I just wanted you to know that the food was terrible. It is a shame we had to waist almost the entire appetizer plate as well as my dd's. They charged us $13 for dd peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Mom and I had a fettucine dish that had no taste. Dessert was just as bad. But the upside was seeing my dd light up when the princesses entered the room. She met Belle, Alice, Cinderella, Ariel and Aurora. That was the greatest experience from this lunch. So if you are willing to try the food for a fabulous encounter with the princesses go to Norway but maybe try the breakfast. Anyone else try any other lunch or dinner item they liked? :listen:

I'm sorry you didn't enjoy Akershus. We had the Princess lunch there on May 22 and thought it was good. My mom does not like fish, but she enjoyed the chicken salad and the potato salad on the appetizer plate. I love fish, and polished off the smoked salmon, smoked pepper mackerel, shrimp salad etc. My DD7 and DD4 both enjoyed their appetizer plates and ate most of it. For the main course, my mom chose the chicken breast salad and enjoyed it. I had the lamb - it was ok, but I probably wouldn't order it again. But I was pretty full from the appetizer plate anyway, so I didn't care. My daughters both had the grilled chicken with potatoes and corn from the kid's menu. It was healthy, they both ate a lot, and I was thrilled that they weren't eating chicken strips for once.

We saw 5 princesses - Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Ariel, Belle, and Jasmine. Since we saw Cinderella, I was able to cancel our Cinderella dinner at Park Faire we had scheduled for later in the week, and save some $$ with no guilt.

I also appreciated that we didn't have to sit and wait forever for all the princesses to come around. On the 24th, we sat for an hour and 20 minutes waiting for Tigger at the Crystal Palace breakfast - from 8:05 to 9:25. All the other characters had been around long before, and we saw some of them twice while waiting for Tigger. Rather frustrating because we wanted to beat the crowd up Main Street. (The breakfast instelf was fabulous, and we would still definitely do it again - yum!)

We would definitely do the Norway lunch again, but also want to try the breakfast. :flower: My only disapointment was that the main courses weren't more Norwegian.

That's a shame. I have read people who like Norwegian food really loved this restaurant. It sounds like it's been watered down so it would be more appealing to the general public for a character meal and now few from either group enjoy it.

I was shocked that I did because I went into it thinking that I was just paying for the experience.... but I had the veggie tort and it was YUMMY...

I don't do well with seafood and mayo based (egg) products so I skipped the majority of the first plate but the cheese and bread were good.

DD loved the troll mix and cheese sandwiches... she had a hot dog and it was ok...

We both LOVED the dessert try... we were fighting over the rice pudding!

Sorry you didn't enjoy it...

My family was there May 4 and really enjoyed everything! The girls ate all of their appetizer plates and their lunches of chicken and spaghetti and meatballs looked great too -and they ate a lot of it! My DH had the salmon and LOVED it I had the Pasta Ak.. and thought it was great with the peppers and sauce- and the dessert plate was awesome! Sorry you did not enjoy it but we had looked at the menu befor making the PS and knew what to expect- it was different but we enjoyed the Norwegian foods!

I also found the pasta dish pretty bland! However, the princesses were good, so I figure it was a successful lunch!

DH and I liked the appetizers and the desserts. For our entress DH had the braised lamb, I had the chicken pasta w/ sundried tomatoes. I thought the food was good, the chicken was tender and the pasta tasted just like I expected to. Nothing out of this world, but it was good. DD ate from her appetizer plate and had a hot dog which is a lot to say as she is the pickiest eater. The princess interaction was great, we got lots of pictures and a few laughs too. We had a wonderful time. I don't think we'd do it again, just because we already have and we'd like to try other character/princess meals. This one was our first, and I was happy with it. Sorry you did not enjoy your experience. It's different for everyone

we're hoping to get ps' for the princess lunch... i shared the menu w/dh and he's interested in trying the food, and well, i've never met a menu i could not enjoy, so i'm sure we're safe (kids fave food is spag & meatballs too! LOL!)...

i do have a question about the troll mix... what is in it? dh has a severe tree nut/peanut allergy and we need to be very careful... thanks in advance! :flower:

OP - I am with you! Food was nasty.BUT I knew going in we would most likely not like the food. Went for the pricesses. We had dinner and did enjoy the appetizer plate ore than main course. The kid's anyway. Chicken salad was pretty good as was potato salad. I felt like I was at a cookout tho - not a nice restaurant. I would not go there for the food, but you can not beat 5 princesses in one shot!!
