First of all, I don't really know how to spell "kareoke" so I guessed

But, for those of you that have this.. I just bought it for my 4yo who LOVES to sing her "princess songs" I thought it would be perfect!! But know I am thinking she might not sing along with it, if it's just instrumental. She uses the words in the song to help her remember.

And needless to say, she can't read yet..

So, I need your thoughts..

Is it worth it? Does it change your voice to sound like a princess? Are all the tracks instrumental?

Thanks for your help!!

Is this the pink one that came out a couple of years ago or something new? We've had one for awhile. You're supposed to be able to somehow connect it to the computer but I never got around to doing it and now I've lost the instructions. One the one we have, the princess does sing the song with the child. It doesn't change the child's voice, it just magnifies it like a regular microphone would. There's an applause button and the princess says something like "that sounded wonderful." DD played with it a lot at first but the batteries kept dying.

This is a pink one, but it connects to your TV and has 20 songs pre-programmed into it. It will run the lyrics across the screen of the TV, I think. You can buy extra cartridges of songs that fit into the microphone to add to the song list. It was $49 at TRU and the extra cartridges were clearanced out at $2..

We had another pink one a couple years ago that had the princesses singing and applause... but it didn't hook into anything. I think that may be the one you're talking about...

We have the mickey colored one and my kids love it! It's a great toy. I went to TRU last Saturday and they had the Disney electronics at 25% off. It was scanning 37.50. I got additional cartridges a few weeks ago at TRU for 2.49 each. The karaoke comes with 20 songs built in and each cartridge comes withh 10 additional songs. I'd say, go for it! It's so easy, it just plugs into the tv.

How old are your kids? Can they read?

I am wondering if all the songs are instrumental??
(I know I'm driving you crazy!) Thanks!

I have a karaoke system (momma's toy :) ) that my DD LOVES to get to sing with. What we do is twofold....it's a regular Karaoke with two mics etc....but I usually just give her a mic and then just sing so she has something to hear. Then we also have some of our CD+G's that have the words too. She can't read but if I'm in the room singing she will just sing right along.

My DD (4) got this last year for Christmas. She loves it...there is a voice enhancer that turns the voice into a bird or dragon voice. My teenage sons even goof off at times with it. My 17 makes his sisters laugh like there is no tomorrow with his rendition of "A Whole New World". It's quite hilarious!

I paid $10 a piece for the extra disks. That's a great deal! I would go for it. It will grow with your DD.

My kids are 8, 6 and 3. REmember if you go get it there is a $5 off $25 purchase coupon at TRU on this board.

I forgot to add that it is instrumental and the lyrics are on the tv screen. My kids can read some of the lyrics but it doesn't seem to slow them down if they don't know the words. It does have a voice changer/enhancer. It's great for sleepover parties.I was thrilled to find extra cartridges for $2.49 at TRU. They weren't marked downon the package, I had to scan them. My TRU still has extra cartridges...I was there last Saturday.

Hi,

I have the mickey microphone, but cant find the extra cartridges!!! i live near philadelphia, and cant find them anywhere,,has anyone else seen them?

thanks wendy

My 5 YO daughter has had this for a while. She enjoys it. But I think she likes it more when she can sucker either her father or myself into singing the songs. We have the Mickey TV with the plugs right up front. So she can plug it in really easily by herself when she wants too.
