Princess Half Marathon Weekend 2026 (Feb 26-Mar 2, 2026)

While everyone is going (understandably) nuts over Marathon 2026 theming, I'll go ahead and start the thread for Princess 2026. Who wants to be running royalty with me?

Race Dates:
Thursday, February 26th - Expo opens until Saturday
Friday, February 27th - 5k
Saturday, February 28th - 10k
Sunday, March 1st - HM
Monday, March 2nd - Disney Princess Yoga

Challenge is the completion of the 10k + HM.

Registration Dates:
Club runDisney Registration: Tuesday, June 17th, 2025 - 10:00 AM EASTERN
General Registration: Tuesday, June 24th, 2025 - 10:00 AM EASTERN

I'm considering the challenge. I haven't done PW in a few years (and the last few times were just single races), but it was my first HM and challenge. It will depend entirely on themes for me.

With DS2's senior year trip being in the beginning of April (and hopeful success of talking DH into MW '26) I definitely won't be in for PW since it's hard to pull off multiple trips that close together. This, of course, makes it certain that Merida will be featured. Right?

Maybe @Herding_Cats and I will finally get that elusive Merida medal?

The Merida 10K is one of the single PW races I did! I would looooove if they brought her back. (But not this haircut!)

This year was my 7th princess weekend but I hadn’t been back since 2022. Thinking about running the half next year! Forgot how much I love this weekend!

Princess dates are out (Feb 26 - Mar 2), and this site says Gasparilla is Feb 20-22. You're clear!

I'm trying to talk my mom, aunt, sister and cousin into joining for this weekend now. I realized that my first race was the Princess 5K in 2016, so PW 2026 is my 10th rD anniversary! How can I miss that??

mmmmaybe I'm in? This race weekend lines up with the beginning of my Spring Break this year, so it makes much more sense to do this than Marathon Weekend. But I have a friend that wants to do MW and is not interested in Princess Weekend. I'm torn which one to do. I think doing both will be too much. Ugh I wish I knew what the themes will be before MW registration.

Do we think there's any chance they'd bring the kids races back for this weekend? I'm guessing (and honestly hoping) no, since they still haven't returned for MW.

As much as I love this weekend for a race, I’m thinking of taking 2026 off from rD. I did a big trip this year and I don’t know if I’m Disney’d out for a little bit, or if I just need a short break and recovery period after this training cycle. I did my first ever challenge this weekend and it’ll be a one and done. I ended up in PT and don’t want to repeat that.

I'm also guessing no. They have them in DL, so they'd have brought them back in WDW by now.

I'm in the same dilemma. It's the start of March Break for my kids, and they won't forgive me if I go on another runDisney trip without them. So I'm going to skip MW. At least I'm planning for a longer trip for Princess, so I can relax and enjoy the parks after the races.

Let me ask you this: would you need to fly home on the day of the marathon if you do MW?

Yes! I almost always have to. Then starting the semester the next day. It's rough, and this year I told DH Never again, but we know how that goes
