Being the ultimate researcher/planner that I am :woohoo:, trying to figure out the host hotels and discounts offered for the Princess Half next year. It looks like there are 4 of us going, and we'd love to stay in a deluxe or moderate :rolleyes1 , but it will depend on the discounts. Can anyone share what was offered this year? Thanks!

The host hotels may change, so unfortunately you can't plan it until registration begins for the 2012 Princess. It is much easier to guess what the Value resorts will be, so don't get stuck on the list below. I would imagine the prices will be a bit higher next year since most things go up a bit at Disney price-wise.

But, this is the information from this year's race:

Disney's All-Star Sports Resort - rates starting at $138.21*
Disney's All-Star Music Resort – rates starting at $138.21*
Disney's All-Star Movies Resort – rates starting at $138.21*
Disney's Port Orleans Riverside Resort – rates starting at $189.38*
Disney's Port Orleans French Quarter Resort - rates starting at $189.38*
Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort - rates starting at $189.38*
Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge - rates starting at $355.88*
Disney's Old Key West Resort – Studio - rates starting at $366.00*
Disney's Polynesian Resort - rates starting at $486.38*

They should have official information in July.

The Princess Discounts honestly didn't seem much like discounts (maybe because that is a busier time of year). My suggestion is to keep your eyes open for general public discounts on room or package--if any become available. For 2011, the general public discounts for that time period came out in late November.

AAA discount may also be available. For marathon weekend a couple of years ago, I made a reservation at AAA discount and then as soon as (day of) the general public discounts came out I called back to check availability at that rate.

Generally, I am willing to do the whole 1-night deposit thing because I know that with room-only you have a 5-day cancellation policy, so I have an out.

For this year's Princess, the AP discount at Pop was substantially more than the event 'discount' at a host hotel. I know it means providing your own transportation, but since I always rent a car anyway, this made far more sense for us.

I wish Disney would release at the very least a list of which DVC resorts will be host resorts. The 11 months booking window is coming up. This year we booked at the BWV because we figured one of the hotels in the area would be a host resort, but ended up being wrong.
