We were just in Disneyland over the weekend and were so disappointed to see the Coronation and storytime with the Princesses were not being held. We asked a cast member there and she said they were told that it's closed permanently because they'll be moving to another section of the park.

It was still listed on the times guide (we were there Sep 30 and Oct 1) and my DD and niece were really looking forward to it.

Anyone else hear this (maybe I missed the announcement?) or did the cast member have the information wrong?

It is moving. Starting after Christmas a new location is being built for the Princesses.

Does that mean no coronations until that area is ready? Maybe, maybe not. It's possible right now it's due to Halloween since this affects the Meet and Greets a bit.

I don't understand... I know its moving but we were there on sunday 10/2 and PFF was definitely operating. We didn't stand in line for princesses but did watch the early coronation and then stayed for the storytelling with snow white.

Are you saying it was closed on friday and saturday??

The Meet and Greet is still happening as of now. But there is a little show, the "Coronation Ceremony" or something. Apparently that is no more or will be no more soon.

Based on the above posts, I'm assuming the CM had the wrong information. At the end of the Summer Season (right after Labor Day) both the Coronation Ceremony and Princess Storytelling were taken off the daily schedule. I think everyone assumed it was in preparation for the move to the new location (still to be built) by Carnation Gardens Plaza.

But it appears that the Coronation Ceremony and Storytelling are back on the schedule during Saturday and Sunday only. I'm looking at my Times Guide from last weekend and they are both listed as Saturday/Sunday only. We also have the first hand report from ladeesquire that they attended both a Coronation Ceremony and Storytelling on Sunday. If I had to guess, I bet they'll run this reduced weekend-only schedule through the busy Halloween Time season.

Thanks for the info - I'll have to look at my times guide a little closer. Maybe I missed that it's only on the weekends.

We saw the coronation about a year ago and my daughter just loved it - the last 3 times we tried to see it there were no shows going on that day - but now that I think of it, the time we did see it was on a Sunday.

The CM specifically said they were not going to be doing any more shows until the move, hopefully she was wrong.

The did have the long, long line to get pictures with the princesses, but my husband won't wait and hour+ to take a picture, and my daughter doesn't like to get quite up that close anyway - so we were disappointed we didn't see any princesses on our trip. At least at EPCOT we see them as we walk by and DD likes to wave to them (even if they don't wave back).

Maybe next trip we'll have to plan to watch a parade or something if we're there on a weekday.

in addition to the Soundsational parade (which we loved!), you can also see princesses at Ariel's Grotto (expensive lunch though as adults are $38 each) and at the Royal Walk on the side paths by the castle.

It is much easier to visit (or see) Princesses out at the side paths to the Castle. Nearly everyone walks up the center path, and will not notice that a Princess or two are a few feet away. Often they will have few or no visitors. Look for them between 10:00 and 3:00 on the half hour. They can be joined by other characters and make up funny interactions.

Here is the Evil Queen coming across the Big Three (Aurora, Snow, and Cindy) at the wishing well on the right path. She tells Aurora to leave, and shows that she is not jealous of Snow White. Very Funny.....
