I've never been to this before today, but we saw the second half of the first showing of the coronation. They had Cinderella, Snow White, and Aurora out and they danced around maypoles with the kids (and adults if you really wanted to!). Then they went away, but a few minutes later they came out for a meet and greet. No Photopass, but it allowed the member of my party who had been wanting to meet Aurora to finally meet her. :) So I'd very highly recommend it if you have little princess-lovers. And even if you don't have kids but do have a (classic????) princess you want to meet, I'd head out there near the end of the coronation ceremony (listed in the times guide) and you MIGHT just manage to catch them. Or at least get a photo, which isn't too bad either. :)

(For myself, I got to meet probably my three favorites--Ariel, Tiana, and Belle--all in the PFF itself, so I was thrilled too! Had we been aggressive, we probably could've met six princesses in the span of an hour, and then Jasmine's easy to find at Aladdin's Oasis...)

By the way, PFF opened at 9 AM Friday, the same as the park opening, so when we got there around maybe 9:40 AM, the wait was less than 30 minutes. So if there's any more days when the park opens the same time as PFF, you might be able to get a quick meet and greet in.

GREAT TIP! Thanks & will be sure to keep that in mind next week the mornings after Grad Nights!

Does the coronation only happen at certain times of the day? Does PFF still go on if the coronation is happening?

Thanks for the post. I usually ignore PFF posts because we are all boys. Next month we will have my DS18's GF18 with us and she is into the Disney princesses. My understanding of PFF is that it is more for the young girls. But I thought she may want to do PFF to see some of the princesses and maybe get a photo.

So please tell me if DS18 +GF go into PFF, will they be out of place? Are the Disney princesses there the whole time? You said the "coronation ceremonies" are listed in the Times Guide? How often do they happen? Should they arrive at PFF at 9AM?

TIA :)

Seeing as how Sleeping Beauty is my favorite Disney film, I've had to figure out how the PFF works. I miss the old days of knowing that if I wanted to see Aurora, all I had to do was check the times guide and then be at the correct location near the castle, but I digress.

In the end, the meet and greet element of PFF is for those guests who want to meet princesses (or are hoping to meet a specific one). I watched the coronation once because I was curious and it definitely skews for the little ones.

When I stand in line for the PFF, at times I feel a bit out of place as an adult male with no children. However, those feelings quickly disappear because the character handler CMs treat me like any other guest. And when my turn comes to meet the princesses, they talk with me like any other guest. I've been called handsome prince many times. I've talked with Cinderella about Gus and Jaq. I've discussed books and classic literature with Belle. I've talked with Aurora about the 3 good fairies dueling over the color of her dress and fighting dragons. Once, Aurora even asked me if I was a Jedi. She made my day, which happened to be my birthday.

My main point is that I've had very memorable, fun, and even special experiences meeting the princesses as an adult. Many parents dream of a magical moment happening when their child gets to meet a favorite character. I've seen some wonderful ones in person and read about some marvelous ones in trip reports. But I can also say that I've had some of those myself when my turn came to meet the character, princesses included.

Don't worry about feeling out of place. Most guests are so wrapped up in their own plans for the day to really worry or care about older guests waiting in line to meet princesses. And the princesses understand that many older guests love their respective movies as much as those who still believe the magic is real. Besides that, I'm convinced that many character CMs enjoy meeting the older guests who pretend that the magic is real because it really gives them an opportunity to show that they're not just wearing a costume, but have become that character.

DD22 loves the Coronation. She has gone down and danced around the maypole before lol. And when Cinderella
paused during the dance and placed her hand on DDs shoulder she was in heaven; being singled out. It's just another way to interact with the princesses. I think most adults are a bit timid to join in, but it's really
fun and the characters are very accomadating :)

My 17yr old and I went last Feb, guests of all ages are there. The princesses enjoyed a more mature interaction with my daughter. She started with Aurora, then Belle joined them because they were laughing and chatting and having so much fun. July I am taking her back with 3 of her friends and yes, they will all be at PFF!
I have 4 boys and one girl smack in the middle of them so we usually grab princess time while they explore Toontown waiting for us.

I am, ah, WELL over 18, and I was the youngest in our party (by 7 days, granted :) ). We did not feel out of place waiting in line, though we're women, but I think your son would be fine. At least, if he really likes the girl. ;) The princesses should have fun with them.

As females it's usually easy to strike up a conversation with a family ahead or behind you; for an adult male that might be a bit harder, but if his girlfriend is extroverted, she will take the lead. The princesses themselves are very nice to EVERYONE. Actually, in December there was an adult male by himself (I thought he was with the party ahead of us; otherwise I would've struck up a conversation, as seeing an adult male alone in PFF is usually a sign of a hard-core Disney fan :) ).

(Be warned that they'll probably be called "princess" a few times by handlers/etc. Just saying. :) )

The Times Guide from Fri, June 11 - Thu, June 17:
Disney Princess Royal Walk:
Daily: 9:00 am to 8:00 pm

Disney Princess Storytelling:
Daily: 10:45 am; 12:00, 2:00, 3:15, 3:35, 4:45, 6:00, 6:20, 6:40 pm
(This was maybe 10 minutes of a princess telling her story--in this case, Aurora. There were some adults sitting on the floor behind some kids so your party would not be out of place in the least, or there are the benches if they are shy. No meet and greets afterward that I could see.)

Royal Coronation Ceremony:
Daily: 10:00, 11:15 am; 12:30, 2:30, 4:00, 5:15 pm
(Again, I only saw the tail end of this once, but the princesses went away and then after a few minutes they came back out for a meet and greet.)

Two PFF-specific things I noticed (they may not hold true going forward, fair enough):

*The Friday after Grad Nite (as in a 9 AM opening), PFF was notably less busy early in the day than it was on the previous day (or at least, that's what the family in line ahead of us said). So if PFF opens at the same time as opening, get over there quickly and your waits should be minimal.

*We walked by PFF shortly after 8 PM and the line was decent (probably under 30 minutes). I am assuming they did not close the line before 8 PM; you might ask about that.

Aside from PFF (line and coronation) and Ariel's for dinner, we also saw Belle entering the Animation area in DCA (you'd think it was after Drawn to the Magic, but she was all alone, so maybe not?) and Tiana has a show and/or meet-and-greet in New Orleans Square on the Rivers of America. The latter was not in the times guide. The show we saw at I believe 10:30 or 11:30 (don't quote me) did not have a meet and greet, but I think she said there would be one at 4:30? You can always ask a CM where you can find Tiana if she is on your list. When we did PFF and later when we walked by again, though, she was there. (I'm afraid our photo looks like I have a girl-crush on her, but oh well. )

Eeee-va, was your December visit early on a Saturday morning? From your TR, it looks like you were there the same time I was and that solo adult male may well have been me. And yes, I'm a hardcore Disney fan.

Thanks for the info on the coronation. It just might be possible to see Aurora without the rotation crapshoot known as the PFF.

Anyone know if this is "summer only" or is there a fighting chance it will be going on in November when we go? My girls still fondly remember this from their first Disney trip 5 years ago, and it would be cool to do it all over again now that they are teens.

It was actually a Friday, December 11, around 9:30 AM (I can tell from my timestamps), so unless you met Jasmine, Belle, and Ariel (in that order)..... I was wearing a LGMH too. ;)

I hope the coronation works out for everyone! I don't know for sure if there's always a meet and greet but you can at least SEE the princesses, interact if you like (though being a girl would have to help :flower3: ) and get photos.

I think it's most likely that this will go away after summer :( but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they at LEAST keep it on through high season times (Thanksgiving, etc.). I'd love if they kept it all the time but I'm not sure how many people it would actually draw when the parks aren't busy.

Oh, and I didn't notice any crowns either. The "coronation" part itself seemed quite brief but I don't know if that's what they used to do.

I hope the coronation works out for everyone!

Your tip was a huge success when I saw the first ceremony on Saturday (10am). Everyone left the theater. There was only like two people in line for each princess till finally people in the shop started to notice.

Plus, I like that they have the princesses in training/waiting work line control. We were second or third in line and this family decides to line up adjacent to the people in front of us. I gave them the benefit of the doubt, thinking they didn't realize the two adults were in fact waiting for Aurora. The princess in waiting/training promptly directed them to the end of the line.

I'll add that about 10 minutes before show time I saw Belle, Ariel and Tiana went into the "royal walk." I also heard a CM say something like since there is no door or something anymore (I forget exactly) the have to use the stairs to get into the royal walk.:confused3. So these three came from the theater area up the steps close to the store/royal walk exit.

Thanks again.

Edit: Yep, first one was at 10.

I'm so glad! (I thought the ladies in waiting were delightful--very helpful and in-character. I actually got a picture with Aurora's, she was so sweet. :) )

The schedule I have says the first coronation is at 10 AM, with the "Royal Walk" starting at 9 AM. When we went, we met Belle, Ariel, and Tiana about the time the coronation ceremony started as well!

I have carefully read your helpful posts and I hope you folks here can help me come up with a plan for PFF. :)

We will be there in late July with DL opening at 8AM each day. I think it would be worth it to send DS18 and GF18 to PFF at 9AM when it opens and tell them to hang around until after the coronation cermony (maybe until 10:30?). That will be 90 whole minutes which DS18 will probably think it too long but better than a 30-60 minute wait later in the day (I think).

o Does the PFF line fill up quickly at 9AM?

o Would they be better arriving at 9:15-9:30 so they do not need to dedicate so much time?

o Does a 10:30 departure sound about right (assuming the coronation schedule holds at 10AM)?

o I am wondering about telling them to stay thru the story time at 10:45 which will mean two whole hours there. Will they get bored or are there enough princesses and activities to keep them fairly busy for 90-120 minutes?

Here is what I observed/heard. I've heard the line does fill up quickly before 9am opening because its popular and the usually start with the big 3 (Aurora, Cinderella, and Snow White) in the royal walk. We showed up at 10 minutes before show time and where able to get front row. It was fairly empty, but again that was 6/12 and not a terribly busy day.

The princesses came out probably about 5 minutes after the show ended but people clear out quickly. After meeting Aurora we left. I noticed the royal walk line was short. Perhaps people see the show and get their princess "fill."

How long they stay or how early they get there might depend on what they want to do? Meet each princess, just see the show?

I was planning on lining up right when we get there to meet the princesses when PFF opens at 9:00. Will they be there for the meet and greet or will we have to wait even longer to do the coronation thing before the meet and greet? We don't really care about the coronation thing-just wanted to meet them for my 2 year old "princess".
