Ok...my daughter has a Snow White dress that she wore for Halloween that she is plannning to wear to the PSB. We were in a store tonight and she saw a Cinderella dress (and the Cinderella Bride Dress) both on sale. I think they are clearances from Halloween/Christmas. We've been thinking of buying her another princess dress so that she has more then one princess costume. This way there are enough outfits to go around during playdates when they play "princesses".

Here's my question- Are princess dresses available for purchase in WDW (I'm sure they are!). Are they easy to find? How much do they cost? Are they a better quality than the ones you find at Target and Wal-Mart?

Part of me wants to just buy the dress that is on clearance. However, if we'll already be spending money on souveniers at WDW, maybe a new princess dress from WDW is a great souvenier.

Thoughts?

It's been about 18 months since I was at WDW but I remember seeing costumes in several stores including at DTD. If I remember right, they are about what you'd pay from Disney online and don't seem to get discounted. From what I can remember, they had different sets that varied in price and quality. There were some that were about like you'd find at Target. They also had some nicer ones that had better quality fabrics that also cost more.

Personally I'd get the discounted costume. If I spent more for a costume, I'd be more worried about my daughter wearing it for dress-up play later. I'd then buy souvenirs that she wouldn't outgrow as quickly.

I hope that helps! As I said it's been a while since we were there.

The princess dresses in WDW are upwards of $60.00. You can do so much better at home. How much did you see the Cinderella bride dress for?

The Cinderella bride dress was 15.00 and the blue Cinderella was 18.00....both on clearance. I'm convinced! I'm going back to the store tonight!

She could have two new ones for 1/2 the price of a Disney World version!

God you should have asked me this last week, lol, Target had princess dresses on clearence, 4.98, I was like wow, we are big on dress up and already have 2 cinderellas so I passed on that one and bought her the barbie one for 3.98, i would do the clearence on and yes the ones at WDW are absolutely beautiful but so expensive for just pretend play and if they get broken as mine did it wont hurt to much in the wallet.......I looked at the Quality and they are good especially target which is were I got mine from so yes go,go,go get them or I hope you did!!!!!

What state are you in? In the Target here in MD the dresses are 20 dollars.

I would take one from home. The 1st time we went to CRT, DD wanted to wear a Belle costume. Since it was only a few weeks before Halloween I told her we would wait and buy it in WDW. Once we were there and she wanted the dress & all accessories, it was going to cost ~$110. I just couldn't see paying that. We didn't buy it and I felt so bad when we went to the breakfast and she saw a few other little girls wearing Belle dresses. I would just take one from home, you might notice that the ones that you buy @ WDW are a little nicer or frillier but she will never know, she will be so excited.

Prices are cheaper outside the parks for Princess Dresses. Working in retail - grab it when you see it - it might be gone when you go back. The dresses at Disney will be of better quality - but really - aren't you going to get maybe a year out of the dress anyway till she grows out of it?? :goodvibes

In APril they are opening in the Marketplace the Bibbidi Bobbityboo Boutique (sorry for the spelling) which will let you buy Princess gowns and also have a salon for the little princesses to get there hair done, etc!!! :wizard:

I wish I was a little girl again!!! princess:

How old is your daughter? I know the dresses at walmart, target, etc all say ages 3 and up. My dd at almost 6 (she isnt tiny but is barely average) tried on the dresses in several of the stores. While she could get them on they were tight in the bodice and short. Sure they'd do for play but were going to wear out that much quicker since they were stretched over her. Check www.disneyshopping.com they still have a few of the dresses. they are even on sale like a few dollars off. But that may give you an idea of any difference in design and quality there may be reg dresses are like 29.99 and delux 55 (down from 85).

My daughter is three...the store costumes that say 3 and up still fit her just fine. She says they are "scratchy" ...but that's what undershirts are for!

Also, did anyone see the infant princess costumes at Wal-Mart. They were in the clothing section and were only 12 dollars. They have a t-shirt and then sort of a gauzy dress over it with cinderella embroidered on the dress.

I just got my daughter one from Target yesterday it was 20 bucks. It is a bit too big. I am going to have to take in in a bit. My daughter is 20 months but she wears a 3t (she is big and tall). The dresses came in 4-6x and 3t-4t. The 3t-4t looked more like a 10-12 month. dress or a baby doll dress. There was no way that she could fit that little thing so I got the 4-6x and I am going to have to take it in a bit.

I saw the one in the Walmart baby section. It was cute for a baby or toddler girl. THey were only 10 bucks so I bought my daughter a Minnie Mouse one and Cinderella one. They fit much better than the Dress up costumes. They come in sizes newborn- 5t.
