As the title suggests, we'll be buying a couple of dresses before DD6 and DD9 go to BBB.

Do any of you know if there's differences in prices or quality?

2 weeks today we'll be spending our first full day in Magic Kingdom:yay::yay:

They are better quality in Disney Florida but be warned they also sell everything to go with them - and you can get sucked into getting the whole lot:rotfl2:

The little girls look really lovely though and wearing a special outfit round the park must be fab for little girls:thumbsup2

I have to say, the dressed that are for sale in WDW are lovely and personaly I think they are better than te ones that you buy here.

We took DD to the BBB back in 2009, I actually made her a tinkerbell dress to wear but she didn't keep it on for long as it was too hot.

I think this year we are going to pay for the more expensive package, as you get the costume included.

Have you already booked the BBB?

The dresses in WDW are lovely but my dd found them to be very very itchy, they tend to have loads of netting in them. I think the dresses are around $60 but then you have ALL the accesories that go with them.

Last year we took our own dress with us as it wasn't full of netting so dd wore it quite happily, she got loads of comments while there because it was so different to all the others, but then of course not so different for when she wears it back at home

Thanks for replies. We're already booked for BBB on the 1st April. It's first thing in the morning so they'll be wearing it for a while. I hadn't considered how uncomfortable the netting could get. Something else to ponder.a:headache:

if you do decide to buy before you go then i really love the quality of the Marks and spencers princess dresses, they are better quality than the disney store ones in my opinion and not too badly priced. Also tkmaxx had some of the really expensive heavy dresses in the other week, managed to gett dd a belle one that had a rrp of £60 for 6.99!!! Bargain!!! although def to heavy for park wearing but i love a bargain!

Totally agree about the M&S dresses, thats where we got dd her princess Tiana one that we took with us

I'd only thought of going to Disney stores but it so happens I've got a couple of M&S gift cards that I could utilise. Do M&S have a good selection?

we got my daughters from tesco as they had the repunzle one for £6.50 i think it was and the others were £11 or £12. meant she could have 3 instead of one. we've had disney store ones which are better but they are also thicker. we are going in may so i'm thinking the thinner ones will be easier to wear as she will want them on all the time. she wore a woolworths snow white dress for 3 or 4 days last trip and i've ended up selling it as it was still pretty good just too small. asda ones are often really good too we had a tinkerbell one but we went in november and it was too cold for her to wear it

The disney world dresses are lovely - really pouffy but they do sell for $60 each.

I've bought DD two there but the rest are off ebay (resale). You sometimes see them listed worn only once at BBB, especially in the bigger sizes.

I also like the M & S dresses quality.

My DD wears dress up in the parks but we've never been in summer when it is really hot.

DD has done BBB twice - the middle package with hair and nails. She just wears the dress to the appointment.

After the appointment go to tinkerbell's treasures and they can have photos taken at no extra cost. They will put them on your photopass card.

I like the ones at the disney store here as they are really good quality. approx £25-30 but not itchy like the ones at wdw (they cost approx $60 plus tax). If your little girls like Rapunzel i would buy the dress here before you go. It's totally sold out in the US just now. :)

We just got back from wdw and they have now have these cute princess skirts that you can buy instead of the whole costume. These are really pretty and a good alternative to the dress on a hot day. Think they were about $30.

I buy all of mine from Ebay. I recently bought the deluxe Sleeping Beauty with white fur cape for around £7. It looked like it had never been worn. I have also got the deluxe Disney Store Belle and Snow White for around £12 each. They retail for around £50. Try French ebay for Disneyland dresses too.:goodvibes

we always get Mollie's on Florida, but usually the disney store at the florida mall... we've been really lucky and got sale ones, really pretty too... however i notice that Tesco have some gorgeous ones out now.... around the 12pound mark.... they look gorgeous!:thumbsup2

Have you thought about making a dress?

I just made DD a Cinderella work dress to wear to the BBB......I'm not great at sewing but it was realy easy....I think I might have a go at making her cinderellas blue dress to wear when she is made over......I think it would be alot cooler for her and she would be more likely to wear it all day.

I still need to make the apron, but I havn't got the cream fabric yet.

Totally agree! maybe its to do with the climate but we also found the dresses to be really itchy due to the netting. We bought DD a reversible dress (Cinderella and Snow White) from Argos at Christmas and the quality is better than I expected - and for £20 you're getting two dresses :)

Personally I think the dresses from over here are better quality and value. The US dresses are itchy and warm due to the lace and fabric. We have had them from M&S and disney shop over here and we prefer them!

We decided to get them from the Disney Store. M&S and Asda only seemed to up to age 7-8 and our eldest in 9. Princess Taina and Rapunzel we going to the bippidy boppidy on the 1st of April. I hope they don't expect me to dress up as the frog.;)

Thanks to you all for your advice.

Good for you :) Make sure you take your Rapunzel to the meet and greet at MK- she'll love it. Especially wearing the same dress-My little girl was so excited to meet Rapunzel. :)
