Hi All,

Me and my family DH, DD 6 & DD 4, will be in Disney in July.... I'm excited.

Is there a particular day that the kids come to the parks dressed up as a Princess? How can I make this comfortable and quick for them?

It seems like it's going to be such a production.

Your child could wear a princess dress every day of vacation, or none at all :thumbsup2 There's no set "costume" day - you'll see itty bitty princesses every single day. In the horrid summer July Florida heat, it will probably be uncofy for a little one to be in one of those hot dresses all day. Perhaps have them come to the park dressed in the princess gown, have lunch/breakfast with the princesses (Akershus, CRT, ect..) and then change into a tank and shorts? Stash the dresses in a stroller or bag and you are good to go.

When our DDs were younger we used to go to the parks with them in their princess dresses have an early b'fast with the princesses and then get them changed into regular clothes. We puts all the princess stuff in a locker and got it when we were ready to leave the park!

When we went in February I had planned for dd (age 2) to just wear hers at our character meals. She ended up wearing her Cinderella dress the entire trip!! :rotfl: Of course, it was much cooler then than it will be for you in July. Maybe save the dresses for character meals or mornings/evenings?

go in June but have been in July.

The dresses can get hot and my daughter complains sometimes that they are itchy. We have been taking her to BBB and then lunch at CRT. (That's ending for awhile because she has outgrown princesses for now.)

We take her dress for the BBB session and schedule CRT about 45-60 minutes after we expect she will be done. This gives her time to do the full princess thing and ride a few rides in Fantasyland. She changes after lunch but still has the BBB look.

I've seen a lot of kids this week wearing one of the princess night gowns that sells for $30 -- it looks like a cute alternative to the fancier princess dresses that sell for $64. It's also a lot cooler to wear in the hot weather.

when we go our girls wear their dresses/costumes as long as they want. So if they want to wear their dress front he moment they arrive, until we leave, we let them - though I draw the line at letting them swim in them :lmao: it's the only time our girls are willing to take them off - they even slept in them once or twice.

Then suddenly last trip our oldest wasn't so keen to wear the dresses. I was so sad. I missed those days when she wore them all day long. I missed seeing her climbing around the boneyard in sweltering heat wearing her full Princess Aurora look.

I missed all the CMs stopping to talk to her. I missed those little extra magical things that happened throughout the parks.

There I was pleading with her to just please put her dress on. Our roles from a couple short years ago were reversed, but the dialogue was almost identical. I'm happy our girls have lived their princess dream, but very sad it's coming to a close so soon. Let your girls wear their dresses when they want soon they'll out grow them and you'll be so sad. Don't miss a single magical moment!

I had cotton Disney dresses made for each of my girls- DD5's is a Rapunzel dress and DD3's is Snow White. I'm hoping the cotton will be cooler than a big frilly dress. They can wear them every day for as much as it cost to have them made! :goodvibes

We are leaving in a few days and DD6 just told me she wanted to dress up like Sleeping Beauty for her princess breakfast at Akershus. I bought a dress at Wal-mart for $20. Our breakast is at 10:30 so she will change into the dress just before that and then take it off when it is over. With any luck I can resale it on ebay!:thumbsup2

My dd always would wear a tank and a pair of shots under her dress just in case she didn't feel like wearing it.

When we went to DL when my DD was 2.5, one of the days, she wore her Minnie Mouse costume and one of the days, she wore a cute custom Mickey dress that I bought on etsy. She didnt seem to have a problem with either of the outfits. My plan this year is to bring some princess dresses and regular dresses and shorts and skirts and just let her pick what she wants to wear.

It was really hot last week when we went so I didn't let my daughter wear her princess dress except for our princess breakfast. I just had her wear regular clothes to the park that morning and then slip the dress on over them right before our reservation. I had her take it off right after even though she wanted to keep on wearing it. It was like 103 out and cheap polyester doesn't breathe. I didn't want her to overheat.

Hello, Can you please give me some more info. I made some tutu's for my niece for our upcoming trip to WDW and I'm looking for some iron on appliques. I love all your Disney designs :-)
Are they Iron on? If its not, how do I work with then? How much they cost?
I sent you a friend request on Facebook so you can send me a message there.

Thanks

If you ever decide to sew a princess dress yourself, there's a whole lotta friendly people over Here

And they just love to sew Disney clothes for their families and other people. A lot of them also sell but they don't advertise. However if you'll look in their signature boxes, you can see their websites.
