We have 2 princess fans here and I'm trying to determine WHICH character meal is going to be the best one. I've been leaning towards 1900 Park Fare (dinner) b/c they LOVE the Cinderella movies. (DD#1 is especially fond of Anastasia in Cinderella II!!)
But then they also love Ariel and Belle and I'm wondering if the Storybook Dining in Epcot is better? (The lunch dinner food kind of seems questionable...any thoughts? Is Bkfst better?)
Last, of course is CRT...not sure if it's worth 2 credits or not. Any thoughts on that?

THANKS!

Personally I would avoid CRT... over priced at 2TS credits. The coolness of eating in the castle is enough for some to call it a value for them, but not for us.

Between the 1900 park Fare and Akershus Princess Storybook, they are both pretty decent. Akershus includes a photo session with the package, so that is a plus for them! The biggest thing is what characters you want to see. Also if you do the breakfast at Epcot early then you are already there when the park opens.

Just so you know the Princess meals at Akershus have different ones at each meal. When we were their in May we did the breakfast and we saw; Belle (picture before the meal), Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, Jasmine, & Marry Poppins. So if you want to see Cinderella & Ariel you may have to see if they are at lunch or dinner their.

Since I knew we weren't going to see Cinderlla there, we also had an ADR at 1900 Park Fare for dinner with her, prince, step-mother, & step-sisters. The character interaction is really great their and the food was decent enough.

If you have picky eaters like we did buffet meals are the best choices.

We attended Akershus in Dec. 2007 for dinner and it had Cinderella, Ariel, Belle, and Jasmine I believe. Be sure to get early reservations because my 3 year old daugher crashed with her head in my lap during dinner and missed all of the princesses walking around.

We just did Princess Storybook and 1900 Park Fare in June, both for dinner.
At PS we had Belle doing the photo op., then Ariel, Cinderella, Jasmine and Sleeping Beauty went around the room. I know some people are afraid of the food there, but all in our party thought it was one of the better meals of our trip. I think the photo package included is a big plus too.

1900 Park Fare was o.k. The step-sisters were the best part (most interaction). We found the food only average, but typical buffet fare. I am glad we did it once, but definitely preferred Princess Storybook. I intend to book it again next year.:thumbsup2

The picture below is from the photo package we received at Princess Storybook (I embellished it in my photopass account).

If you are interested in doing CRT, IMO I would wait until your girls are older, especially since it's 2TS credits.

We did the lunch in Norway last year and Cinderella was not there. It was Belle, Jasmine, Ariel, Alice in Wonderland and Pochahontas (I know that is spelled wrong). We were not happy with the food (I left hungry) (and that is the reason we went--we did not go to see the princesses). If you are going to Norway, I would go with breakfast as it is your typcial American food as opposed to lunch and dinner which is more of Norwegian food.

I enjoyed the photos and your video! Thanks

YOu are very welcome! I hope you have a super fun trip! We have a year to wait to go back so I have to live through DIS boards until then!

We really enjoyed 1900 Park Fare especially the stepsisters. My dd(3) loved it but dd(1) didn't enjoyed the real face characters as much as the big costumed ones. Maybe because the princesses looked so much like mommy:rotfl2: Plus the food choices met everyones needs.
We also were able then to take monorail to MK and boat back to GF to get our car (we stayed at CSR) That was a great night!!

We did both Akershus and 1900 Park Fare last August/September, I just asked DD5 which she liked better and she said she couldn't pick. The food at Norway was very very good, our DS cleaned his plate and loved the cold buffet (we all did). When we were at 1900 it was still the Fairy Godmother, the mice, Cinderella and the Prince so I can't say how I feel it is now with a buffet and different characters but from all I've read it is still great. We have both booked again in 3 weeks. We've never dined in the castle, only because everyone I personally know that has went has told us it isn't worth spending 2 TS credits. They have all said that getting to walk through is plenty and that their kids had a better time with more interaction and better food at the other two places.

we did CRT when it was 1 TS and all the princesses were there coming to your table and it was worth it then but we went again using 2TS and it was such a disappointment. THe picture and time my DD got to spend with Cinderella before you go in to eat was nice but not worth 2 TS. we have reservations at Princess Story book in sept. and they said there are always 5 out of 6 princesses there and i thought the food sounded good. I liked the fact your not at a buffet when the characters come around. Its too much commotion for us.

Got 2 Luv that video and your son, tell him he is a pretty good ballroom dancer:thumbsup2

Awww...thanks! We were joking with him that he had good practice for my brother's wedding on the 23rd...less than 3 weeks away! We are all in the wedding too!

So the Norway one...the bring the meal over family style instead of going up to a buffet?? That may be better with little ones, eh?

Norway has a small buffet that you start out with, then you order which entree you want and for dessert it's a sampler. I like this so much better with little ones than the buffets, we did three one year and it wore me out:) . After a day in the parks, I wanted someone to bring me my food! Also, you don't have to worry about missing any characters while standing in the buffet line.

We really liked it, are going again next trip.:)

I've never done Akershus, but I have done CRT this past January. All three of us 19 year old girls loved it! And so did our boyfriends, the princesses made such a big deal over them. I'm sure the 2 credits/$50 charge thing (my friend booked it so I can't recall it's name haha) is steep, but it was so cool even as an "adult" to eat in the castle! I think it'd be especially cool for two princess fanatics!

Edit: We thought the food was great too!!

I will be going in a few weeks and picked lunch at Norway....many years ago when my DD14 was small, we ate at the castle and we really enjoyed it. I want to take DD5 to it as well, but its just not worth the 2TS credits to me. So, with Aurora being her favorite princess, the Storybook lunch seems like the place to go. We are actually looking forward to trying out the food there.

I hear ya! I worry about "buffets" myself. They have alot of positives (unlimmited food, not having to wait to start eating, etc) But I fear getting sick fo them and I know they aren't always easy with 2 little kids.

So if you pick out an entree and don't like it, can you get something else? Or if you LOVE it can you order more?

How does bkfst work at Norway? Same way...family style? What foods to they serve for bkfst? Any pix???
