Can anyone give me an idea of how much these cost? My nieces both want me to get them one, but I'm almost scared to see the prices!

I'm pretty sure they start at between $40 and $50 just for the dress. The accessories are extra--shoes, gloves, tiara, etc.

We were at DL in May. MIL bought my DD a belle costume for $60. No accessories were included.

We get my daughter one every time we go and depending on which outfit you choose expect at the cheapest $50.00(Tinkerbell, includes wings) to $70.00(Ariel wedding gown). It is worth it though because the CM's I think must be told to comment whenever they see a child in one and it makes my daughter feel like a princess. Also we've actually had people want to take a pic with her in her costume just like the characters.

Are you feeling like you need to get one that Disney has made? If not - check these ones out - we have many ( since they are prtty cheap) they can be washed, they are soft and comfortable (as opposed to the itchy material and tulle from the Disneystore ones) and I was able to roll 5 or 6 of them in to a large ziplock bag when we went to the park last time.

Thanks for posting that link, these costumes look really cute! Can you give me an idea of how the costumes run in size? My daughter is turning 5 in November and I am not sure if I would get her the medium (the site says for ages 3-5) or large (ages 5-7). TIA! :goodvibes

Thanks for the link and the info guys. I was actually considering getting them non-disney costumes if the price at Disney is too much. I love my nieces to death, but that's alot of money, especially since I have my own kids to buy stuff for as well. I don't want to disappoint them, but I don't want to go broke buying dresses either.

We have several of the dresses from mydressuptrunk.com and love them. My 5 year old who is tall for her age is needs the large size for the length. HTH

For our official Disney dresses I bought them at the after Halloween sales at Disney store and Disneyshopping.com for about $25 each. If your trip is after Halloween you could check the sales especially for the accessories.

Just bought Ariel's wedding dress two days ago. It was $65 and the crown was $16 I all total with tax $86. Was it worth it "YES!!!" And they are much nicer than even the disney store. We have a snow white costume that was $48 from the disney store and the one at DL was way more detailed. Mine is going to wear it for Halloween too. We bought a size big (4-5) and she loves dress up. We have a lot of cheeper costumes as well. But it was lots of fun to go in and let her pick just what she wanted. Then she wore it to the princess dinner and got lots of extra time and attention. She was the only one dressed up at that dinner time. I felt like it was part of our trip.

That's what I do ... buy after Halloween. Saves money and those dresses are just sooooo adorable!

A couple of weeks ago I bought Belle and Cinderella dresses at the Disney Store in San Antonio and they were $12-13 each! I couldn't believe it.

I buy after Halloween, too. In 2004, I got some great deals, and dd got 3 Princess dresses for Christmas from Santa. Last year, they didn't go on sale immediately the day after, and the sales were not as good. But, last year was also when I worked for Disney Store stocking shelves at night for the holidays, so I still got some pretty good deals that way.
I found my dd a brand new, Disney Store, Tinkerbell outfit on ebay for about $15. It was the 2004 model, which was fine with us. It was cuter than the 2005 model, from what I hear.
Good luck!!
