I thought this might be of interest to those looking for Hallowe'en costumes for their little girls, or for people who want to dress up their daughters for the Princess breakfast. This year's princess costumes have arrived at the Disney Stores in Canada. I had been panicking because other DISsers had purchased theirs awhile ago, but at my local store (Yorkdale) they arrived yesterday and are being put out today. Apparently they've been available for two weeks in the US. The very kind manager brought out one of each for me yesterday, and we settled on an Ariel costume for DD for Hallowe'en. Snow White and Cinderella were especially pretty, too, I thought, and this year they even have Minnie. They're $41.95, but since DD and her friends play dress-up almost every day, we gets lots of use out of princess clothes. The plush costumes and boy costumes (Tigger, Pooh, Malificent as dragon, Peter Pan, Buzz, etc) have been available for a little while now.
I just wanted to let everyone know because I missed out on an Ariel costume last year, though we did eventually find a Belle outfit. The 4-6X size and 8-10 sizes seem to fly out of the stores and are particularly hard to find later in the season. For anyone who is trying to eyeball the sizes, my fairly tall 5 year old (45") is wearing the size 8-10 Ariel dress, which comes right down to her shoes. Please call your local store to make sure that they've really arrived first, though - I'd hate for anyone to have a wasted trip!
