Anyone have any idea how much the princess costumes cost at the park? We've always brought one from home but due to a growth spurt that's not going to work out! Rats! I was going to buy one from Ebay but if they aren't that much more expensive I might just pick one up when we get to the Polynesian. Any help appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Only 37 :thewave: :thewave: more days!!

Have you checked Walmart? My dh (Don't ask, long story!) found deluxe Snow White, Cinderella, and Tinkerbell dresses for really good prices. They were even cheaper on-line but are now sold-out. One of my girlfriends paid more than $50 for the same Tinkerbell dress (green with crinolins and wings)we purchased for around $20 on sale.

I looked for some during our stay in February (for my neice), and most were $55 and up. I thought that was a little steep, so I passed.

good question - I can't remember...but boy!!! did I ever buy alot of those things ...hahahahahah

You will be paying full pop at WDW where ever you go in WDW. I looked online for the dresses and you can get them all over... BUT be forewarned, they don't necesarily match what the princesses will actually be wearing when you get to Disney.

Last my daughter was super into the princesses she was 7. She had a home made Ariel outfit, a store bought snow white outfit.... and I was looking for a cinderella outfit before we went... and I could not find one in town at the disney store.

SO we check into the contemporary and my then 7 year old daughter sees the mall on the 4th floor (It's genetic). And she is in awe. Literally mouth dropped open. There is every outfit with matching shoes that she could possibly want. We get the Cinderella dress the night before in time for our next days breakfast at CRT. Glass slippers and all. We go to CRT and wow...it was a very close match... if we would have had the black choker and longer white gloves it would have been exact.

So my point is. Other outfits probably will not be so closely matched as what the princesses are actually wearing at that time at WDW.

Anyway to answer your question... I seem to recall about 12 bucks for the glass slippers, and 25 to 30 for the dress.

We got ariel too while we were there. very cute

You can go to Walmart.com and they have the Sleeping Beauty and Snow White for 12.77 each htey are sold out of all the others...

Search under toys and dress up

Hi MeganNRileys Mom

I bought my Riley a Minnie Mouse dress last year at the world and it cost $60. The Princess dresses were the same price, if not a little more. IMO, the ones in the parks are made of much better quality, which of course you pay for!! I think they run a little big, she will be wearing it again in May so that would make 3 trips and the few times she wore it at home, so I think I got my moneys worth.

Good Luck!!

wow is that how much I paid for those princess dresses? holy shamoles!! But you are right the quality is soooooo much better. Actually now that I think about it it probably was upwards of 60, dress, shoes, wigs...etc.

But you are for sure right. The quality, and the match to the real thing. I looked all over for dresses before we went on that trip and there just wasn't anything even close to the dresses that the princesses actually wear. SAme color scheme maybe, same cut maybe, but not the same dress.

Thank you all! I looked at the costumes in Walmart and though they are perfect for dress-up at home, they weren't up to the rigors of park wearing! LOL the velcro closure in the back I could forsee as an issue for my "princesses"

I think I'm going to have to bite the bullet and pay <gasp> retail for them instead of my previous great deals on eBay! :confused3 :sad2:

I got one last yr (a friend picked it up). My DD wore it for her b-day (the actual day and party), birthday pictures, halloween (the actual day and 2 parties), 1900 Park Fare in the GF for dinner...and I am sure I am missing a few. I got my money's worth! This year, she has been saving all her disney dollars for a Snow White dress. She is going to be 4 in May but she has her mother's saving ability!

We have all different costumes. For the parks I buy the ones in the parks because the quality is usually better. Sometimes you can get a good qualtiy Disney store one. I think we usually pay about $60 for a princess dress (minus accessories) in WDW. We started a tradition where each girl gets to pick one new costume each time we visit.
