Princess Breakfast

Do I get points for predicting (post#3) its return with four princesses, less activities for the same price? :D

I found some articles. The DFB has some pictures. A review will come later, they say. Allears has pictures of the buffet

Disney Princess Breakfast Adventures returns to Napa Rose restaurant at Disneys Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. (Courtesy of Disney)

A pricey royal breakfast “made by princesses” and sprinkled with edible gold pixie dust has returned to Disneyland’s AAA Four Diamond award restaurant as the Anaheim theme park rolls out the regal red carpet for World Princess Week.
The Disney Princess Breakfast Adventure restarted on Thursday, Aug. 26 in the Napa Rose restaurant at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa after a pandemic hiatus.

The $125 three-course meal at the Grand’s fine dining restaurant comes amid the first World Princess Week that Disney has been celebrating during the last full week of August.

Waiters boasted that the menu was “made by princesses,” even though none were seen preparing breakfast at Napa Rose — despite Tiana having her own restaurant and Cinderella knowing her way around the kitchen. But there was certainly no shortage of Disney royalty on hand to greet aspiring young princesses and princes from a safe distance amid continuing coronavirus concerns.
The lineup of princesses on the first day of the returning Napa Rose breakfast buffet included Tiana, Ariel, Belle, Mulan, Jasmine, Aurora, Rapunzel and Pocahontas. Costumed kids could meet with the princesses on an outdoor patio from a safe distance separated by a strand of faux ivy. Belle read fairy tale stories, Mulan struck warrior poses and Ariel showed off her — what do you call ’em? — oh, feet.
The unmasked princesses paraded one by one through the dining room without stopping at individual tables as part of the COVID-19 health and safety protocol. Restaurant patrons were required to wear masks indoors whenever not eating or drinking.
The well-heeled crowd dressed in princess finery and Disneybounding costumes tended toward the mother-daughter experience with the occasional multi-generational outing including grandma gamely sporting a fairy godmother outfit.

The meal lived up to the high culinary standards of the Napa Rose — no Happy Meals here — and served as a low-stress way to introduce kids to the concept of fine dining. Nobody looked askance if little Princess Aurora ate raspberries off the tips of her fingers or pre-school Princess Tiana yelled, “Look mom, it’s Mulan!”
The first and third courses were served at the table with the second course presented as a buffet.
The appetizer course arrived on a three-tier A-frame with bite-sized banana wraps, ham and cheese sandwiches, lobster rolls, beignets and chia parfaits themed to the Disney princesses.
The breakfast buffet main course featured braised short ribs, barbecue beef sliders, chicken and Mickey waffles, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, mac & cheese, papas bravas and roasted vegetables.
The third and final course was almost too pretty to eat. The dessert tower included seashell macarons, cake pops and other sweet treats themed to Disney princesses. The waiter sprinkled a healthy dose of gold pixie dust on the desserts with a pink star-shaped magic wand.
A swag bag included a necklace pendant or a sword and shield with a princess cinch bag and a button.

Splash Mountain

Earlier in the week, Disneyland unveiled new concept art of the “Princess and the Frog” makeover coming to Splash Mountain as part of World Princess Week. The illustration showed Princess Tiana and Prince Naveen traveling by boat along the bayou joined by Louis the trumpet-playing alligator on the way to a Mardi Gras party. The rethemed attraction’s soundtrack will feature original music inspired by songs from the 2009 animated film.
The attraction concept art suggests that audio-animatronics from Splash Mountain — which were repurposed from America Sings — could be redressed and reused in the “Princess and the Frog” version of the ride.
Walt Disney Imagineer senior producer Charita Carter promised the reimagined Princess Tiana attraction will include game-changing new scenic illusions and visual effects.

I am hoping to get some new insight into this breakfast. Has anyone been recently? What are they giving to the kids currently as the gifts? Are they back up to full princesses? Food still amazing?

We may splurge on this next trip and I definitely need to think about this one.

Any recent photos? I've been going through blogs but only a few are recent and I prefer the advice and answers I get on here.

I've done it twice with my best friend, no kids. We did it prior to the restrictions and last year. The whole experience, is very relaxing and the food was great. My best friend loves meeting characters but isn't one to wait around on lines, so stuff like this is great for us.

For the kiddo that isn't into princess stuff, it's a great food experience as the food is brought out in courses and it really took the full 3 hours. The little princess touches are great and it's a great way to feel like a royal, without being one? Not sure if that makes sense. So this works great for the kiddo that is into that stuff, especially if they dress up to attend.

With the restrictions, princesses don't come to the tables, but you can do selfies with them outside as it is distanced.

I have this reserved. I wish bbb would come back. My little would like that better I think.
Was it difficult to get a reservation? Thursday is the only day that falls during our visit that it is offered ( Thurs to Mon) I'm stressing a little because we want to do a WOC dessert party that evening, and I'm not sure how to handle making the ADRs
The Princess breakfast is probably the more important one, with Princess loving granddaughters ages 5, 7, and 9. I'm the only on in our group that can do the ADRs, the other grandma doesn't do much on her phone at all. We are a group of 5, 2 grandmas, 3 granddaughters

It probably depends on the day you're looking for. I was looking for reservations 60 days from today and I noticed the Princess Breakfast was available. I looked at the dining page a few times between 6am PST and 1:00pm PST and they had a few time slots.

Will you please post a review when you are done? My trip isn't until December. We loved BBB so much!
My trip is next week and BBB isn’t back. We have a res for the princess breakfast but I haven’t decided on keeping it.

We have a cruise next year and a they have bbb.

She only likes frozen. The princess breakfast just has traditional princesses.

When I reserved it they were gone within a day or two. I’d definitely reserve the dessert party right at 6 am. Then pop over to the breakfast reservation.

What time did you reserve? We have 10:40 and I’m wondering if we’ll be rushed out. Plus my little has FASD/ ADHD, etc and I don’t know if she could sit 3 hours anyway!

Holy moly! Three hours? Somehow I didn't know it took that long. I figured about 2. I'll have to rethink that even more now.

I did it in March with my aunt and uncle ad though the price tag was steep we definitely enjoyed the experience. We saw Belle, Ariel, and Pocahontas on their way out. Met Jasmine and Rapunzel in the lounge area and Cinderella and Aurora in the dining area. We had a late booking and did not feel rushed. The staff was great and the food was wonderful.

I believe it was at 9 AM both times. We weren't rushed, but they definitely take their time due to the timing of the courses. The starter and dessert is something they bring out. In the middle is the buffet, which you go up to.

The first time I went, it definitely took all the time allotted if you wanted to see all the princesses since they were coming around to the tables. The second time, you can definitely speed it up since you don't have to wait for them to come. You can just ask for dessert early (or to go) and go to the lineup of princesses. However storytime is still outside and after you get dessert so if your kiddos want to stick around for that, you have to cater in the time for it.

But don't fret if your kiddos don't want to stick around! We normally opted to get our desserts to go (we were full anyway), but it was still a nice use of time before OBB.

It's definitely worth it if you're doing OBB beforehand because it is very relaxing. I wouldn't worry too much about the 3 hours, as they don't rush, but they also don't prolong you either. But it is a longish experience.

From what I remember:
1. Walk in, you may get drinks and be seated in the waiting are with some board games while your table is prepped. While you wait, there might be princesses just outside to greet as well. The wait is never long though.

2. Seated at the table you get starters provided by the waiter. Once you're ready, you can head up to the buffet. When you're ready, they'll bring out desserts. If you have kiddos, they get a souvenir.

3. Once you're done, you head out to meet the other princesses as well as get seated for storytime. If the kids aren't interested, no worries, you can still meet the princesses, you aren't required to stay for the book (it's a short story, if I remember correctly).

4. You're done!

Just seeing if anyone has been recently since character interactions were changed. Also I saw somewhere on here, and now of course I can't find it, that they were giving dolls out instead of the normal thing. If you've been recently I'd love a review! I'm still on the fence about this.

you probably saw my mini trip report. They seat you near the entrance. A worker comes to tell you you can come meet your first princess. We met in a courtyard. We sat back down. Then they came and had us meet another princess. It felt like we sat forever near the entrance.

Then I think we sat at our table and they took our drink order. After our first course they had us meet a princess.

We met Mulan, Tiana, Aurora in the courtyard. Then we met Ariel and Cinderella at different times at the inside meet. There was a photopass photographer here and those are free to download.

We had a 11:40 I think or 10:40 and they seemed to be behind. We never got story time with Belle.

Yes, the only gift was an Aurora doll. I know on Disney cruise at their tea time they’re given a doll. I think Cinderella at that one.

I should have skipped this as my kid isn’t super into princesses. We’d have done BBB instead if it was available.

Oh yeah, my daughter would be super disappointed with a doll. No autograph books?

Everything I've read about this has me on the fence. I think the food looks great and she loves princesses. We may have a friend with us so with tax and tip I'm sure it would be about $500. Ugh. I have lots of time to make the decision though. Our trip isn't until December.

We only got an autograph book & pen, pins and a cloth drawstring bag, no doll. We were there right when they allowed interactions again, so while the princesses didn't come to the tables, my girl got to hug them. We only took 2 hrs, but it was our first morning of the trip and wanted to get into the park.

What type of princess doll do kids get with the breakfast? Is it a Bleacher Creatures sized doll or a Funko plush doll or a mini keychain like doll? I'm curious to know

I think they’re out of that stuff now. My kiddo did get the drawstring bag so they must have leftovers. 🤣 We were there around 5/7. It sounds like they were out of the tiara or necklace by the time you were there.
