Sorry, but your children are only pickey eaters because you allow them to be.
Make them eat what is put in front of them, or the can go away hungry. }

that is fine for at home , but I can not expect my 5 yr old to go all day at a theme park on an empty stomach !! I concider it partially my fault for not checking the menu before we arrived . SHe is not that picky , but to see all of the food served in one skillet was just not something she was use to , therefore she did not want to eat it . I am not the kind of parent that screams at her child all day to "DO IT or else" !! I pick my battles and this was one I let her win . Big deal $12.00 -- she was excited to see the Princesses , that was worth the 12 bucks . This is a lesson learned . Like I said it was a 'been there , done that" experience anyway . We love Chef Mickey and CP , so we will continue to do those until she's a little older .

Don't explain yourself. Nothing worse then some self righteous unexperienced know it all parent giving you a lecture! Whether it is home or vacation they are still your kids and you are the parents. You do what you think it right and that is all that matters!

Geez, who can tell what will set kids off. They may not like seeing the food together or they may not like the fact that they can't have the same cereal they eat every morning at home, who knows? Parents can try asking for the food to be brought separately on plates so the kid can see it, they still might not want to eat it because the experience is different, or they're in a mood, or whatever. It's also not up to the waiter or restaurant manager to make sure a child is eating. Character meals have children up the wazoo and I don't think they have time to notice what any particular kid is eating or not eating. Parents need to take this initiative and ask for what they think the kid might want.

If you book something like this breakfast, you're paying for the experience, not the food. If the food is what's really important, you can bring the kid's favorites from home and bypass the experience. I don't see anybody saying there was bad food, just that the kid didn't want to eat it for her own reasons (apparently just because it wasn't served the way she is used to; heck, she's a kid, they think this way sometimes) and the father wasn't too happy about the humongous bill for a breakfast that the kid didn't eat.

But she did get to see Belle.

I agree, the OP was just warning those with younger kids or picky eaters that they may not enjoy the food at the Storybook Princess meal. People, we are talking about a 5yo not liking one breakfast while on vacation at WDW! IMHO not a huge cause for concern or a plea for parenting advice.

For all we know the OP's dd is an excellent eater who loves mickey waffles for breakfast on vacation, nothing wrong with that!

Got Quattro? - This is not a parenting discipline board. If that's what you want, please feel free to visit many of those sites. This is a discussion about someone who is giving us information about a less-than-perfect experience, so that we can make informed decisions and have happy vacations.

Its so nice to hear that you are the perfect parent. Sounds like an absolutely joyful household.

Feel free to have strong convictions. Just don't state them and then hide behind "I'm not here to get flamed." State a strong opinion and be ready to take the heat. If you are that strong with your convictions and opinions, then why are you apologizing ? You just can't take that someone actually has a logical argument (remember, this is all opinion-based, not factual-based).

Can we end this argument since I think the OP's information has been disseminated ?

Please tell me your kidding... I don't have kids, but when I do its nice to know that I won't have to worry about "disciplining" my 2 y/o when s/he reaches for a hot pot of boiling water or tries to drink the Draino or starts smacking around their younger sibling!!

Game on, this parenting thing is going to be easy!! :rolleyes: :rolleyes: :rolleyes:

I just quoted what I read/saw :) I think the shrink need to have his head examined :)

This has been brought back as there was valuable information on it for those of you with picky eaters, but it will remained locked as it became something else other than a warning for picky eaters.
